I do want that Atmos mix. Hopefully there’ll be a stand-alone Blu-ray release someday.

I begrudgingly pre-ordered via Amazon despite the high price. I would rather have a physical Blu-ray disc of the surround formats than not. So thats why I decided to purchase this boxset. At least they didn't pull a Beatles Revolver boxset and dump the Atmos mix on digital only.

I'm grateful they're offering a physical option for the Atmos mix, but they're definitely taking the piss here...

The content on the two BDs doesn't even add up to 25GB. They could have done PCM presentations of the 5.1 and 2.0 mixes at 24/96 and 24/192 respectively, dts-MA presentations of both AND the Atmos mix all within about 19-20GB.

Delays notwithstanding, after knocking Animals out of the park its a shame they're doing this all in one approach here forcing you to buy a lot of stuff you don't want IF you want to own one optical disc.

Also they could have included the Parsons Quad mix here and still used a single BD25 for all the high rez/surround options.

Given how much I prefer the Parsons 4.0 mix over Guthrie's 5.1, I am going to wait this one out for now but will keep a price watch on 3Camels.

It's incredible to me that you're complaining when I look at all of the different mixes they are giving you. This looks like an amazing set for one of the greatest albums ever.

I have the Immersion box set so I doubt that this is something I'll pick up.

... single disc with the 4.0 quad mix, the DTS 5.1 mix, and the Atmos mix (even DTS:X over Atmos), and ask about $14.99 for it, watch it sell without the syrup ....

Not interested at $300 but the planetarium screenings could be interesting.

I think they left the quad mix out of this set intentionally. It's in the Immersion box and by leaving it off of this one, the Immersion set has something that is special on it for those that have it.

Pink Floyd's back catalogue was due to be sold to an investment group for half a billion last October, but that hasn't come to fruition because of Waters. So I suppose this will keep Gilmour in plectrums for a while longer. Remastered yet again by Guthrie, if they wanted something interesting they should have let Steven Wilson have a go. The 160 page book is available separately for around £30. No quad mix, no early mix, no unreleased tracks, no video, no documentary make this a very poor offering compared with Immersion. The only interesting thing I can see is the Atmos mix and I'll wait to see if it gets a download release. As a price comparison, today sees the release of the 8CD box of Thin lizzy Live & Dangerous for £65

What mixes are they giving me for $300 that they didn’t already give me for $100?

Answer: one, and they’re missing one, so net zero different mixes.

Some of the mixes are from the new remaster. Those will all be new as well.

I bought the blu from the previous immersion set on Ebay and was delighted to receive the actual thing and not something homemade.

My collection of Blu Rays from Pink Floyd keeps on growing.

I don't plan to buy this set but I might..... I didn't buy the previous set so that helps.

I read they planned to make the entire catalog available on 5.1 SACD at one time. I really believe stand alone releases will come out eventually and Apple will get lossy ATMOS of the whole kit too .... I hope.

With all the albums that deserve a multichannel mix, it's disappointing that they keep going back to the same old war horses over and over again. I look at the titles that were put out by MFSL back in the 80s on LP and they got re-released on audiophile CDs, DVDs, SACDs, blu-rays... over and over. I like this album, but if you haven't gotten a good sounding version of it by now, you aren't trying. But people who believe in the lies of "new and improved" and "if it costs more, it must sound better" must be a big enough market to keep flogging the same old dead horses.

$300 and the quad mix isn't included? I initially thought there were 2 Blu-Ray Audio discs because one was a simple repress of the Immersion disc while the other was a new one with the new 2.0 remaster and the Atmos mix. No studio outtakes either? Not even an all analog vinyl pressing of the album like they did back in 2003? Why bother. They didn't even attempt to release a 2.0 remix of the album a la Giles Martin and what he's been doing with The Beatles catalog. Dark Side of the Moon doesn't need a remix but it would've shown there's at least the slightest bit of care about this anniversary.

It's funny how there's so many surround mixes of Dark Side of the Moon yet, outside of 6-Track 70mm/5.1 mixes for the film, The Wall hasn't received a single surround mix. I think David Gilmour said this was due to the condition of the master tapes back in 2011, or to something to that effect,...but with the amazing work Giles Martin has done with Peter Jackson's isolation tech for Revolver by The Beatles, there's simply no excuse anymore. It's sad all these albums are in cash grab territory now.

am interesting in this, specifically for the Atmos mix, but at the MSRP being 300 smackaroos, Im curious how much of an Amazon discounted price will be.

I know for a fact I have 2 ears. I'm a logical fella too.

That said, if you haven't heard the 5.1 mix of DSotM then you are missing out.

I didn't even realize they did this back then! Doug Sax and Kevin Gray? Going to Discogs now...

...and based on those prices I will not be adding this one to my collection any time soon!

This is how I feel about the Parsons quad mix. I prefer Guthrie's 5.1 of WYWH over the quad, but Dark Side quad owns! So grateful we now have a wonderful transfer of the original quadraphonic analogue tape > 24/96 PCM to enjoy in the home.

They have professional barrel scrapers but it's a heck of a nice barrel.

I really want the Wall on Blu .... the movie and the album and the live show from LA that has existed as bootleg forever and ......
