Might want to wait on that, the steelbook shows a Mill Creek logo on the side.

Mill Creek reissued the title in 2019, they ported all the Universal bonus features over and added a single new one: a trailer for the film.

Despite this, the Mill Creek blu-ray was allegedly worse than Universal's.

So unless you've got to have the trailer, or the steelbook itself, I wouldn't bother.

Yes, this is a MC release with a clear slip, but the description does say new bonus content, which I assume is what starsteam is referring to.

Yeah I'm assuming they're adding new extras not on the previous MC release. Though I'm probably not going to watch the movie since the old Universal release will still likely be better.

Is this really a prequel to John Carpenter's version? Or is it a remake?

It's a prequel. Ends right where his film begins.

But for some reason, most people keep calling it a remake. I guess they never actually sat through the whole thing?

I saw that, but from the sound of it, they could very well mean the trailer as the new bonus content (relative to the old Universal BD).

If it is genuine new content, then great, glad I'm wrong. I just wouldn't go pre-ordering this is all.

the French steelbook is still, IMO, the best one available for the 2011 film

Yes, the French steelbook is certainly the nicest.

Since that’s a PET slip, I’ll reserve judgement until I see the full steelbook artwork. That, slip, though, is not the design I’d have chosen…and $26.99 is ridiculous.

Is it really that bad? I know next to nothing about this one.

Oh wait....I should have looked at the date of the movie in the title. Haha. Thought for a minute this was yet another steelbook for the 1982 film. XD

I may pick this up then.

Oh heck yeah! Even though the cgi sucks in this movie I still really enjoy it.

So it looks like it will be the same art with the slip removed. If so I would leave it off.

Is this a first for Walmart exclusives? Can't have been that many before... for steelbooks anyway.
