I can't narrow it down. Now if the poll was for horror genres I don't love, that would be easier for me.

I've always liked a genre I call (and some others do, too) 'Art Horror'.

I suppose it would mostly fall under that category above of 'Foreign Horror', but there have also been US films, too, so not always.

'Art Horror', for me, is stuff like, "Santa Sangre", "AntiChrist" (2009), "Incubus" (1966; with Shatner), Bergman's "Hour of the Wolf", both "Suspiria" films, there's definitely some Japanese films (like "Under the Blossoming Cherry Trees", "Onibaba", "Kuroneko", and many others).

I love many horror genres; but I like this one as it's where you tend to find a lot of originality. I would even consider some Cronenberg films 'Art Horror'.

Pretty much anything except torture porn. That's the one line in horror I won't cross. They're all the same: they're gross out for gross out's sake with little-to-no character development.

On a side note, I don't really consider the first Saw torture porn. It's relatively reigned-in and not excessive (read: stupidly gory) like in later sequels. It also happens to be the movie I rented on my 17th birthday as a "celebration" of sorts back in 2005 when Blockbuster was still around, so there's that added bit of nostalgia, too.

I like any one that doesn't waste 1 hour and 20 minutes on pointless chatter and have the last 10 minutes on the actual "horror." I can enjoy a slow burn but there better be some build up or substance to it.
