I feel rather certain that'll be the case here, too. Considering how excited Paramount+ was to get Scream (2022) up on its service, with this film seemingly becoming an even bigger hit, they'd be stupid not to try and capitalize on that.

Meh. That date would still be normal if this was 2019. If this was 2002, the film wouldn’t be out on physical until September at the earliest. I can survive the wait.

Does anybody else think that it’s seeming likely that Scream 7 will parallel the third film? Having our survivors visit the set of Stab 9 and have the ending take place in a mansion.

If so hopefully it’s way better than Scream 3.

My biggest gripes with that movie were the obviously censored kills and the fact that it’s very obvious it was shot with two killers in mind before they removed the second killer.

The movie felt too goofy to me.

[Show spoiler]Dewey's
kill was censored in 5, he had an entire belly wraparound that he wore which showed his belly slit and his internal organs inside.
[Show spoiler]Vince
was stabbed several times in the neck after he falls to the ground but theatrical cuts away after the first one.

I spoke with Jeff Goodwin (FX guy who worked on 5), he said there were several gags they were forced to cut but he wouldn't go into details.

6 had a different FX team to 5 as it was filmed in Canada and yes I agree
[Show spoiler]Ethan's
death was clearly censored. looked like a prosthetic cheek but she doesn't rip through his cheek a la Pan's labyrinth. there's no climax, no payoff. we got nothing. oh and
[Show spoiler]Bailey's
eye gouge is sus too... I'm sure the shot of
[Show spoiler]Anika's head hitting the dumpster
was trimmed by many frames. and they used a softer take of her body flopping to the ground right after.

I don't understand why Scream movies have never had Unrated cuts on home media just like Saw does. all that pre-release hype of Melissa saying it's the goriest ever, etc. RS are clearly putting a lot into the production side of things knowing 30% of gore will end up cut. like why bother filming anything at that point. if you know a lot of it goes on cutting room floor.

I was hoping for a set with 2 4K like they did with 1+5 4K, any chance that still pops up?

Nice. But I think more than anything, I'm excited for a better look at all the stuff in the shrine.

Is this still set for July 25th?. Gotten a bit quiet, I would have expected a date announcement already.

So no deleted scenes. Interesting. They’ve talked about at least one that didn’t make the final film so I’m curious as to why they’re holding out on us…

German news site just listed a July 13 2023 release date so i think the US release will be before that.

Does anyone know what audio codec will be used for the physical 4K/Blu-ray versions? I really hope it is Dolby Atmos (TrueHD) and not DTS-HD MA. Sonos Arc here!

I'm only interested in the 4K code, so I'll wait until someone sells that from their 4K combo. Paying $20 for a 4K code is insane.

It's looking like July 11, 2023 for the U.S. release

Australian release date was June 7th but it recently moved to July 19th so that U.S date fits with our date a couple of weeks after.
Paramount is weird though - Dungeons & Dragons came out theatrically weeks after Scream VI yet the Australian release date for that film seems set for June 14th down under - more than a month before Scream IV comes out. Must be some Paramount + thing with Scream that is delaying the release.

Just got an email update from Amazon saying July 11. But as others have said, probably due to a Paramount+ release first. Which is fine with me. I already have P+ for Star Trek, so as long as I can watch it somewhere, I'll be happy.
