Honestly I'm still perplexed at the uglyness and basicness of the artwork of this UK set and that for The Bionic Woman. They are pretty much identical to the first DVD releases from the UK. For 150£ you'd think they could come up with something a bit better. Not that the US versions are great but they are certainly an improvement.
Maybe it's the just the ugly logos that pollute the artwork. I mean the fake bluray header, the discs logos and the ratings logo just ruin it. But I am also quite sure they will be thrown into a big capacity amaray case and call it a day. Happy to be proven wrong. |

Found out last night (from this month's edition of Legend Lowdown and the new issue of a UK TV listings magazine), that The Six Million Dollar Man is getting a repeat airing on Legend from next Tuesday evening/night (8th August). Shall sample some episodes before deciding whether to get one of the show's Blu-ray boxset releases.
Seems to me like it's the other way round this time, compared to The Incredible Hulk, Knight Rider and Miami Vice (those shows seemed to get a Blu-ray release by Fabulous Films' UK branch first, before getting Blu-ray releases elsewhere. But with The Six Million Dollar Man (and The Bionic Woman), it's seemed to have had a Blu-ray release/Blu-ray releases elsewhere first). |

Out of Fabulous's complete box sets only The Office has subtitles, the shows from the '70s and '80s don't seem to have them. To be safe I'd probably go with the US set especially if you're saving money. But it's worth checking to see if there's any issues with the set.

I have this set and it does have English subtitles. It also has an extra disc with all the interviews and featurettes that were exclusive to the Timeline DVD boxset in North America. Hope this helps.

There were some audio issues reported for the Shout set, has anybody checked to see if they're on this set too? The ones reported I made note of:
Season 1: Day of the Robot from 17:55—19:55, during the dialogue between Majors and Saxon while driving. At 19:55, there is an audible "click" at the point at which the audio returns to it's original, clear state (in the middle of their conversation). Season 2: The Midas Touch has muffled dialogue throughout. Season 3: White Lightning War has muffled dialogue throughout. |

The dialogue in Day of the Robot from 17:55-19:55 seems normal and clear to me and there is no audible click at 19:55. Some of the dialogue in The Midas Touch and White Lightning War seems a bit lower than usual but I wouldn't call it muffled as I can still understand it. I've also watched the same scenes on my Timelife DVD set and the same dialogue is a bit lower on that as well. So far I've watched the 3 pilot movies, episodes 1, 2 and 4 of season 1, The Bionic Woman and The Return of the Bionic Woman and have been impressed by the PQ and haven't noticed any issues with the sound. I've also watched Welcome Home Jaime on the Bionic Woman set and been equally impressed. Last edited by spacecadet; 09-21-2023 at 06:22 PM. Reason: Timelife DVD observations |

The episode very loosely based on the IRA with the IBA and the cod Irish accents is a shocker and a half.
All that was missing was leprechauns and a top of the mornin' quote and they would've had a full set of stereotypes. ![]() |
