Thanks. It was the final word that I didn't know (he doesn't pronounce it properly, assuming that's what he said). Plus, they don't actually appear to be playing cards in that scene (dominos?).

In Chinese the word for playing card and mahjong tile is the same.

Probably some mix up in the translation.

I actually really enjoyed it. It's a pretty brutal journey film, and I like it a lot more than I was expecting to.

Speaking from an unpleasant experience.
Don't want to give out any spoilers here, but you might wanna be pretty selective who is in the audience if you show this movie to others. The people who produce these Kung-Fu genre movies can often (to the exceptionally squeamish anyway) appear to be... indifferent to extreme violence.
So, when the child actors are called upon to follow the script, they play their string out right to the end. As Ernest Borgnine would say.

He's not quite there yet with his trademark flair, but you can see certain things developing. Still, outside of maybe the final duel, I'm not sure I would have been able to tell it was a Ronny Yu film.

Oh ok I see, I've already ordered this along with Supercop 4K and Iron Monkey Shout Factory. You know I would love for The Bride With White Hair and Warriors Of Virtue to get Blu rays.

Just got this one, and as always a terrific release from 88 Films. The subtitles I provided for the HK version didn't turn out too bad either :P, with adjustment helps from other contributors during translation. Although I did miss translating the signs and stuff, but it turned up anyway in the movie. So to the one(s) (maybe 88 Films crew themselves) who added these in addition, mucho thanks It turned out great! The magic of collaboration, I love it! Too bad there wasn't a booklet on this release, so I wouldn't know who else contributed to the release. Other than that, this is one fine release. Run and buy!

Not sure why this was posted in North America part of the forum, but the bluray should play on region B also. Unless there is also a region A bluray version of this released for US people..

There is also a thread in the UK section. Outside of the rating logos they are identical releases, but this particular releases without the logos is being sold in NA markets.
