Default Blood In, Blood Out (1993)

I feel like this is a cult classic movie that anyone barely talks about. This year is its 30th anniversary. Has there been any news about a blu ray/digital release? Sadly it’s still only available on dvd and vhs.

I believe the LA Times recently had a nice article about this movie. It was barely released back in 1993 because the studio didn't know what to do with it.

It’s a bonafide classic. Really surprising that more people don’t mention it. It’s much better than “American Me” in my opinion.

If it's "free" with commercials every 5 minutes, no thanks!

RE: Blood In Blood Out

It's even HD/anamorphic on YT, with the ads, but who cares. I have the DVD and it's non-anamorphic. The only scene that gets muted on the YT version is during the drug overdose scene. I assume it would get pulled if the algorithm picked up on that.

I have the digital HD as a placeholder. It's anamorphic and also has 5.1. I used to own the Criterion LD back in the day.

i havent watched my dvd in years, but i just love this movie, great cast and settings, and a fine musical score by Bill Conti, that needs a release...

An HD version aired twice on FXM these past couple of months. Hopefully we’ll get a blu ray sometime soon now that an HD master exists.

"Blood In, Blood Out" is now on Hulu in HD and looks significantly better than the DVD. Quite the upgrade. Hopefully we'll get a blu ray release or at the very least, the HD digital version will become available on Fandango At Home, iTunes, Movies Anywhere, etc..
