Does anyone want to trade for my copy of Five Women for the Killer. It is in mint condition with the slip...the nude slip. I did not really like this movie. I might give it another watch and see if it improves any.

If you like New York Ripper, it's got a similar feel to it but not as good. That does not mean it is not good - it is. I think it is Lamberto's second best movie after Macabre.

No disrespect towards 88; I've got a few of their releases which I'm happy with, but their Blu-Ray of this title was not one of their better ones. That, combined with VS's general track record, make this an easy choice for me.

In all fairness, you're right. All those titles suffered back then, regardless of the label. That said, I realize it's not a straight 1-to-1 comparison, but I do feel like VS has earned my trust when it comes to the quality of their releases, compared to 88.

Ah yes, VS + OCN = win. Hoping for a stellar encode. Here comes another massive upgrade of a 16mm film....the, uh, kind of film that folks say can't see any sort of "meaningful upgrade" from the 4k format.....

A BLADE IN THE DARK makes its world UHD debut, featuring a pristine and exclusive new 4K restoration by Vinegar Syndrome from the original negative... As we’ve mentioned before, our edition also includes the world disc debut of the alternate Theatrical Cut - but now we've decided to sweeten the deal and add a bonus 4K UHD disc to this release. Now both cuts of BLADE will be presented in 4K! It's now a 4-disc set (2 UHDs and 2 Blus). The bonus 4K UHD disc containing the Theatrical Cut will only be included in the limited edition box edition. The Standard Edition will not include this bonus disc. If you've already placed a pre-order, you're all set to get the box edition with the bonus 4K disc.

Cool, will definitely be picking this up. Amazing that both cuts will be in 4K.
I'm also curious as to when the new Archive location opens in Toronto. On VS's website it's listed as coming soon but I'm stoked that we'll be getting a location here. My local shop is partnered with VS so they get all the limited editions with slips/boxes etc. but I'm really anxious to see what The Archive has in store. |

I'll be looking to VS increasingly for more Italo splatter upgrades now that Arrow is going off in different directions. Severin could be considered our best hope for domestic releases of these types of films but they seem to be focusing a lot on folk horror and international oddities these days. I need a monthly Italo fix, dammit!
