Joyce Godenzi stars in this violent action classic about a newlywed police officer who battles a Vietnamese gang whilst also trying to impress her new in-laws!

Inspector Mina is a career-focused officer who has just married her supervisor (Tony Leung Ka-fai), who himself comes from a family of dedicated police officers. Her new sisters-in-law (including Carina Lau – ASHES OF TIME, DAYS OF BEING WILD) are a little jealous that Mina outranks them, but when a gang of violent Vietnamese criminals (led by the always excellent Yuen Wah – EASTERN CONDORS, KUNG FU HUSTLE) target the family, the sisters unite into a lethal force of vengeance.

I was never quite satisfied with the old English translation of the Vietnamese dialogues during the final fight. So given the chance to work on the subs on this release, I can finally translate what Agnes Aurelio's character actually says. Vietnamese cursing can be quite "dirty" to be honest hehe, often referring to one's mum when they start cursing you. No offense to native Viet people at all, I do think when Viet dialogues get vulgar and dirty, they are the best..and even cooler than Cantonese phrases. That's why many of the old Viet dubs of old Hong Kong tv series are classics, they tend to match the characters behaviour and sometimes enhances their actions and appearances in a cooler way. Those who know Vietnamese should know what I am talking about

Anyway, hope this new translation will make people understand more what Agnes Aurelio actually meant to say to Joyce Godenzi and adds the mood to the fight scene. Too bad Joyce's character obviously didnt understand what the hell the Viet lady was babbling about LOL.

One of the best Girls With Guns films. A no brainer if you're a fan of the genre and a great starting point if you want to get into it.

Joyce Godenzi (Sammo's wife IRL) is smoking hot and kicks some serious ass in this.

I believe the HKL DVD had a short soundbite from Sammo on working with Joyce, and featurette entitled "Battling Babes." There was other stuff, like trailers, but these were the only bits that could be considered interviews.

Battling Babes is on the Yes, Madam blu ray. It's OK, not very substantial.

This is common in many HK films of the era. I've seen this recently in the In the Line of Duty films, Millionaires Express, and Tiger Cage series. It's so much more noticeable now with HD quality on large screens.
