Here's the embedded trailer:

I read this script years ago. It's a good one.

For the first 30 pages or so, it sort of lulls you into thinking you're in for another generic Lights Out / Come Play / The Boogeyman type of movie, but as it goes along it gets increasingly macabre and twisted. By the end, it is more like Barbarian or Malignant.

Definitely looking forward to it.

thanks, i couldn't figure out how to embed it for the life of me.
That was my takeaway from the trailer - looks like all of those aforementioned horror movies we've seen BUT the actors involved and the cinematography have my attention. Its gonna be about the execution. One thing that gives me a little pause is the 90 minute run time. Sometimes thats not a good sign but on the other hand, you don't want something to drag or overstay its welcome.

It doesn't surprise me because it is a pretty sparsely written script. Less than 100 pages.

Outside of the dialogue, everything is written in a single line, no periods or commas. It's a strange format, but makes it extremely easy to read and fly through.

To give an example

This is how the script is written

Line after line after line

Without any sentences going long enough

To make it two lines in a row together

I've seen it and I still have 13 days until I can say a word. But I will say this, the trailer did exactly what it needed to. Expect the unexpected.

Limited theatrical this Friday. Unfortunately, Barbie and Oppenheimer will probably destroy it.

It just looks like a TV movie to me and Lizzy isn’t really known as a big movie star.

I’m interested in checking it out.

I didn't know it was a limited release. It's playing in a lot of theaters near me. Maybe it won't stay in theaters very long though.

Is it just me or does that still/hold shot for the trailer want the viewer to think..Babadook. Lizzy's hands and facial make-up looks exactly like Babadook.

I couldn't find the proper still shot from Babadook for comparison, but I'm sure anyone that visits this thread knows what I'm talking about.

Neither lead is known as a movie star. Both better known for TV work. But that doesn’t mean a movie won’t play in theaters.

Thank you for this reminder. I've had a review recorded for a week now and didn't think I could release it until the 25th. But yeah I quite enjoyed it. Lizzy and Antony were great in their roles, and there are some nice surprises. But it's not going to be for everyone. Don't want to spoil anything. But I dug it.
