They could make up for the long wait for Dracula by releasing it on UHD.

Indicator literally said that to all intents and purposes it is a digital 2K film. There’s so much VFX and other digital futzing that a rebuild isn’t happening.

Dracula (1979) on UHD? It could happen. That raises the question, though, would it be a 2 disc set including the desaturated version. I don't think the majority would care to see that version on UHD. It could be included as an HD disc, or perhaps Indicator might not include it at all. I'm just speculating here. Food for thought. And looking forward to their UHD slate.

They should be announcing the first 4K releases on Thursday 27th October, along with the other January 2023 releases.

On 26 June (UK), and 27 June (USA/Canada), INDICATOR is proud to present its second batch of 4K UHD releases, with two slices of Italian genre cinema – a classic giallo, and a twisted tale of witchcraft.

First, we present COLD EYES OF FEAR (Gli occhi freddi della paura), a tense and brutal home-invasion thriller from Italian genre-film stalwart Enzo G Castellari (Inglorious Bastards). Starring Gianni Garko (If You Meet Sartana Pray for Your Death), Fernando Rey (The French Connection), Giovanna Ralli (What Have They Done to Your Daughters?), and Frank Wolff (Once Upon a Time in the West), and boasting a discordant jazz score composed by the great Ennio Morricone, this new 4K restoration from the original negative will be released both as a Limited Edition 4K UHD with Dolby Vision HDR and as a separate Limited Edition Blu-ray.

Secondly, from one of Italian genre cinema’s most outrageous and uncompromising filmmakers, comes BLACK MAGIC RITES (Riti, magie nere e segrete orge nel Trecento... aka The Reincarnation of Isabel), Renato Polselli’s (The Vampire and the Ballerina) delirious masterpiece of erotic horror. Starring Mickey Hargitay (Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?) and Rita Calderoni (A Quiet Place in the Country), this bizarre, psychedelic fusion of eroticism and Italian Gothic horror is presented in an all-new 4K restoration from the original negative both as a Limited Edition 4K UHD with Dolby Vision HDR and as a separate Limited Edition Blu-ray.

Newly remastered in 4K from the best available film elements, both of these essential releases contain expertly encoded presentations, a comprehensive range of newly produced extra features, improved English subtitles, and 80-page books with new essays, historical articles, contemporary reviews, and film credits.

The UK Limited Editions of these June releases are available to pre-order individually or, only at our website, in a time-limited bundle offer with a 10% discount. If you wish to take advantage of this offer, then just add both titles (in your format/s of choice) to your cart and enter the code BUNDLE at the checkout. Offer runs until the next new-release announcement.

Our US/Canada Limited Editions are available to buy from all good physical media stockists, including Diabolik and Critics’ Choice.

Holy crap, The Reincarnation of Isabel in 4K! Never expected to see that. Day one for both.

Already ordered and received (for the U.S. Market)
The Shiver of the Vampires (1971.) A copy from the internegative. Mine is 5738 of 6000.

I think the rest are from the original camera negative...

Will receive soon "Two Orphan Vampires" (1997) Not as interesting as it seems to be much more recent. However, the rest I think are from the late 60s early 70s and 1980.

and pre-ordered
Cold Eyes of Fear (1971)
Black Magic Rites (1971) also released on home video as "The Reincarnation of Isabel?"
The Rape of the Vampire (1968?)
The Night of the Hunted (1980?)

It seems a lot of these are coming out pretty fast. I'd like to see

405 Schoolgirl Hitchhikers
401 The Nude Vampire
408 Countess X

Not too familiar with this director but they are all on UHD Blu-ray and the image quality is pretty good for what it is. So far based from the first one I received, storyline I think it pretty much sucks. To me it's middle of the road early to mid 70s drive-in and grindhouse fair...kind of like a lot of VS titles.

Just received Two Orphan Vampires" (1997.) This one is 4820 of 6000. I don't know how many are marketed towards the U.S., but it seems I'm getting the higher numbered ones so far.

It appears that the earlier numbered ones are for the UK release and the later for U.S. I have 491 UK Shivers and 5353 U.S. For Two Orphan Vampires it's 642 UK and 4557 U.S.

I ordered direct from Indicator/Limewood when the films were announced and also ended up ordering from Amazon U.S. just to ensure I received a copy.

Personally, I don’t really see the point of numbering the editions when it’s only printed on the J-cards, which I always discard. I guess others must keep them, but since there’s no way to attach them to the packaging, it seems like that would be a pain.

They easily slip into the case so it's really not bad at all.

Received "Cold Eyes Of Fear" (1971) number 3835 of 6000. I think it was the included book where I read there's a total of 10,000 but that must also include regular Blu-ray copies, or they were mistaken.

They have 6000 UHD and 4000 Blu-rays for the first six UHD releases in this line.

Watched Cold Eyes of Fear 4K last night.

Not sure how I feel about it. I hadn't seen the movie before, and I liked it, but also disliked a bit. I do feel like it needed a touch of trimming to tighten it up a little more.
