Thanks bro. Im guessing OOP stands for Out of production? So I guess thats why steelbooks are such a hot commodity cause of the limited time to get them?

Do you know how long SBs are usually made for once the movie comes out?

Just to throw another acronym in there, Watchmen could very well be OOP, but it is not OOS (Out Of Stock).

I was there again yesterday, just to take a look, and the shelves were far from full, but they were not empty and the three FS'es that I went to on Monday no longer had any in the new release section as well as having them in the display shelves at the front of the store. Now, they were all in the display shelves at the front and it did have empty spaces.

If you are still loking for one and you are in Canada, get one, as soon it may just be the damaged ones left.

Cheers

That is a tough call, although it is possible.

Either there are not as many so there are selling out faster, or more people are doing the huge buys, or more people are buying it than did TDK so it is selling out faster

Don't know if we will ever know for sure

I'm pretty sure TDK was a much more popular movie that Watchmen, so there is a good chance that the production run might be less than TDK. That being said, they could also have the exact same amount printed for each title, but more people have realized there is a market for reselling these steelbooks, so they are flying off the shelves alot faster than when TDK was released.

There is also the possibility that this is just a first wave of Watchmen steelbooks, and that Future Shop will restock them later when more come in.

That would be a first as I do not think they have ever done that. Maybe with DVD ones, but never with Blu-Ray ones.

I actually think it is a combination of more people buying for profit and a lesser number printed. They may really not want to have stock leftover like the bonds were

You can also check the first post stickied up top in this forum, "Definitive List of Blu-ray SteelBook Cases." Howwon maintains the list on the first post, and he has them broken down by country. He does a great job of maintaining it, along with assistance from several other fine members from around the globe.

If they dont sell all the watchmen after what happened with bond that might be the end of FS steelbooks

If we are talking about blu-ray releases in general, then it has been done before (see Hancock). If we are talking about Future Shop, then I yes, you are right, I don't think it has been done. There's always a first time for anything though. If the market gets saturated with them, then they will also re-appear on the shelves when someone returns a bunch of them that they were unable to sell.

Bond? You don't like me saying Bond victors? Why, what is wrong with saying Bond. Maybe I am talking about "Bond"ing with wood glue, or "Bond"ing with my fellow forum members. Bond? I really don't know what is wrong with Bond ....

Yes, I knew about the Hancock re-release and I was speaking specifically about FutureShop. I know from experience, only meaning I have seen it, about the returns. They will show up after about a week and then at about 29 days. A week will be the dented returns from the ones that were shipped and the 29 days will be the mass buyers second guessing the sheer numbers they have remaining and will rush to return while they can.

So if you missed getting your copy, head to FS on about August 19th or 20th
