Fun film, but has always looked crappy. I remember the VHS, DVD, and BD. Mediocre, the lot of them. The 4K disc coming in for the save, hopefully.

What are the odds this will have less grain than the blu ray though? That's my main concern. The blu ray looked phenomenal.

As far as beefy anime brawlers go, I’d much rather have a 4K release of Fist of the North Star.

I would hope it has more than the Blu considering the Blu is littered with scanner noise.

Wow I wasn’t expecting this. I’m a big fan of their Blu-ray release, so I’ll be paying attention to how big of an upgrade or not the UHD is.

YESSS!! I hope this is a true 4K scan of the negative! Still cannot believe SONY Japan never gave this a proper DVD release! Along with soooo many other titles (GAL FORCE for example). The LD is nasty, and as with 99% of SONY Music anime, is all DVD got as well.

I wish their old 80's and 90's OVAs and movies could be saved. Always hated the very non-film look of SONY Music anime LDs. That fake digital colour look that sadly most anime LDs looked like from the early 90's on. So many OVAs from BV were ruined with that look, too.

Victor release crap all anime these days, but if anything has a chance, this is it.

With Bari Bari Densetsu just getting a BD release, I have a huge list of LD, VHS and especially, VHD only (so many never got an LD release, back when LD was Victor's "rival") Victor titles I would love to see on BD first though. My BD of BariBari is not here yet, but I am hoping it is a big step up from the OVA VHDs and compilation movie LD I have. I don't think film was used though.

What I would not give for NINETEEN19 on BD from the neg with music intact. Damn I love it. The LD was a shitty VHS master transfer, so sad. Oh, Windaria seriously needs a 4K transfer, too! Without the sad DNR that the LEDA BD has.

Yes they synced every version of the English dub to the fully uncut version of the movie. Theres even an English dub mixed with the original Japanese music.
