It's kind of odd that the packaging for these three sets doesn't have volume numbers anywhere on it.

I prefer the standalones anyway. I hate the book packaging Universal uses, where the discs slide into the tight cardboard pages, so they can achieve maximum scratching. And if you're lucky, they also get some nice glue along the far edge, which may or may not allow the disc to be removed at all, adding more suspense.

I like to sort all my Hitchcock discs chronologically, so I'll be buying the standalones for these. At least we won't have to wait a year for the standalones, like we did for Vol 1.

Maybe they'll print less of volume 3 but if you can be patient, vol. 1 and 2 are almost 50% off on Gruv right now (and routinely go on sale). Not sure it's worth paying 60-70 bucks to get early when they aren't limited editions.

Yes. The previous BD collection also included North by Northwest, which isn’t getting a UHD release from Universal, but it’s also not a title Universal controls.

It seems like mods don't pay attention to these kind of things sometimes...

For example, I created a thread a few months before the announcement of the Exorcist and somebody created another thread the day it was announced but mods still haven't merged both.

My advice would be to report the original post and then explain that the thread needs moving. I've done that myself when a thread of mine needs a title change or whatever. Dunno if it's considered improper use of the report button, but a mod's never berated me for it
