  • Original Eurocine Trailers
  • Vintage Jess Franco Trailer Reel
  • rare Interview (Chris Alexander 2013 Interview w/ Peter Stickland talking all about Franco)
  • Special edition Bluray and DVD wrap
Quote:
From the psychedelic and erotic mind of exploitation king Jesus "Jess" Franco (FEMALE VAMPIRE, BARBED WIRE DOLLS) and producer Erwin C. Dietrich (JACK THE RIPPER, SWEDISH GAS PUMP GIRLS) comes BLUE RITA, one of the strangest spy movies ever made! This lurid, sexually daring shocker follows the exploits of the titular heroine, Blue Rita (Marianne Flety), an exotic dancer and gentleman's club owner who secretly works undercover as a Communist spy. In the basement of the nightclub, Rita and her band of strippers seduce and erotically torture wealthy, important VIP's using a number of effective but unspeakably bizarre methods at her disposal to acquire vital information. Now an avowed lesbian who despises all men, Rita seeks revenge against the brutes that violated her as a child. However, Interpol begins closely observing the ghastly goings on within the club and soon discover the ulterior motives that its proprietors and Blue Rita herself have in mind. Full Moon is excited to be bringing this rarely seen Franco masterpiece to Blu-ray for the first time in North America, fully remastered in HD and totally, unapologetically uncut. Get ready for the sort of slick thrillride that only Jess Franco can deliver!

Great news! I'm sure this isn't a new scan, but it still beats DVD. Hopefully we get BD upgrades of all the Full Moon Franco titles.

I won’t be surprised if we do and I fully welcome it!

I have the Ascot Elite BD, but I'll buy this just to support more Franco in the US.

this is out now if you see Fullmoon booths at any festivals. Just picked it up from Monsterpalooza last weekend. Let me know if you want me to check anything about the disc.

Edit: shame it only has English and French dubs. No German available even if the title card is Das Frauenhaus

Some obervations: The english dub has been remixed to DD 5.1 and sounds bad. The french dub is in 2.0 mono and sounds much better, and also matches the mouth-movements. Unfortunately the english subtitles are SDH(!) dammit...

Why in the world does Fullmoon keep insisting on these bullshit 5.1 lossy audio tracks? I don't get it. Nobody wants or needs these movies in surround sound. Just decent quality 1.0 or 2.0 is all we ask. What does the English subtitles being SDH mean, or why is that a negative? Does this mean instead of simply translating the spoken language, you also get things like "jazzy music playing" and "sound of wind"?

SDH is subtitles fore the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, so yeah, it describes sounds. I honestly have no reason why so many people have an issue with them, they make movies accessible to more people, which is always a positive IMO.

I wish there were both, but English SDH should be for an English language audio track. English subs for the French should be just the dialog. I don't like the extra text on screen for things I can hear, such as telling me the wind is blowing, etc.
