I’m aware. I’m just saying it’s nice to have a new Pixar short that can be watched outside of Disney+. Things like Lamp Life, 22 vs. Earth, or Ciao Alberto would traditionally be on the Blu-rays but they’re instead Disney+ Originals.

Originally Carl’s Date was supposed to release on Disney+ in February - if that did happen it likely wouldn’t have been in theaters and therefore not released on the Elemental blu-ray.

Carl's Date was my main reason for watching the Dug Days series on D+, and I'm glad I did. It was very entertaining.

I like the black cover more, because it doesn't look as busy.

After reading this thread, I'm just now realizing Strange World STILL hasn't had a standard 4K retail release. What's the deal, Disney?

Do I have to buy it off eBay? I have no interest in the club.

I'll go for the Wal-Mart lenticular. Am I the only one that thought they should have done more with the leak storyline?

Ooh, that steelbooks looks great!

When I see a new Pixar film, you know it's going to end up in my Blu-Ray collection. And Elemental is no exception.

Wonderful movie and one that I'm so happy was able to find it's audience and do well(well, not massively well, but well enough that it was able to have huge staying power and may end up making a profit.). I'm debating if I want to get the Steelbook or lenticular covers. Both look really cool.

Weird that the 4K banner is in blue, that might confuse people if it was a wide release. Should've just kept it black, GOTG3 didn't even have a banner, just a little line.

If I get it, I'll get it from DMC. I'm not giving WM any money after my last dealing with them. It's bad enough I have to use them for groceries and home goods lol

I'm actually incredibly conflicted between the Steelbook and the Lenticular...

I've yet to see the movie, but both of those editions look great and I'm sure i'll like the movie regardless.

It's a joke Disney is like oh you can just import but having no standard 4K you can just buy off Amazon and the likes.

Disney (or Best Buy) upped the price of new release Steelbooks to $39.

Is it odd or is going to be the new normal going forward for Disney/Pixar films that have disappointing box office.

I bet the next Marvel bomb will also follow this strategy on 4K.

When it comes to 4K, Avatar and Guardians wide retail release, TLM 2023, Elemental Limited Retail Editions and DMC only.

Disney it seems no longer has much faith in the 4K format except for D+ and big box office hits.

It should be interesting how they handle Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny. $40 BB steel or Walmart Icon or pin I’ll have to drop the $40 to get the steelbook.

You can still get the 4K steelbook from Best Buy $27.99 free shipping if you are a Best Buy rewards member, free to join.

Strange World tanked, big time. There will be no wide retail release.

I don't really care. I've been a DMC member for many years, so even if this is their new strategy, it has no effect on me. It's just a good thing that the site isn't being ignored and still has exclusives being released, in a way.

Both probably increased wholesale price. Also I bet a more limited number were made vs the amounts made for Lightyear, Thor Love and Thunder and Ant-Man Quantumania, all still sitting on Best Buy shelves.

Ten Ant-Man at Santa Clarita store.

Both Disney and Best Buy want sell outs i.e. Mad Max Fury Road, Thor Dark World like the days when people got pi$$ed off that the steels were out of stock within minutes of opening release day.
