Default PS3mediaserver glitches?

I just downloaded PS3mediaserver on my iMac, and got it running, and it works pretty well, but there are some glitches with it, and I wonder if anyone can offer any tips to deal with them.

The main issue is that I can't get it to save changes. When I restart my computer and launch PS3mediaserver, I have to go to the "Navigation/Share Settings" tab and add my music folder to it every time. Then I hit save and Restart HTTP Server, and then everything is fine. Is there any way to get it to save my music folder so I don't have to go through these steps every single time I start the program?

Also, if I hit the red x in the upper right corner to make the window go away, I have to shut the whole thing down and relaunch the program to get the control window back up, even though the icon is in the dock at the bottom. Clicking it doesn't do anything at all. And I'm running Mac OSX 10.4.11 in case that makes any difference.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I think the idea is that you tell PMS which directories your music/photo's and videos are in. Just add the directories to look for and thats all you need to do. I don't understand why you need to do anything that your talking about.

I don't understand why either, but I have to do it.

So at least I'm not the only one having this issue. You summed it up perfectly. It's like the save button doesn't work. Every time the program gets relaunched, I have to start all over with it. It's not a big deal really, and I guess I shouldn't complain about it since the program is free, but it is annoying.

You might have better luck in the official forums for PS3mediaserver, there's even a separate section for Mac OSX.

I'm using it with XP over a wired connection and have to say I was surprised at how smooth the streaming was. I've watched a number of larger sized files (4gb) using it and never had a problem.

try wired, works better. but when you start the file, pause it for like 20 seconds and let it buffer, then play it

im sure it does work better that way, unfortunately, wired is not possible with my setup at the moment, its not really a big deal since i have a 320 GB hard drive in my PS3 that holds all my media and then some, but it would have been nice to just stream it instead of everytime i add something new to the library on my computer, having to add it to the external HD, then upload it to the PS3

now that will be handy, i didnt even think of that, thanks! i did wait a minute or so before trying a video out last night, and it made it about 3-4 minutes in before having problems, plus if i have it available on the HD, i dont really want to wait for it to buffer if i dont have to, but once i have a wired connection available, that will probably be how i go about it
