It was released last year, but not in 3D or in 4K.

Is that the Cult Classics release? Yeah, I've avoided that one precisely because Studio Canal omitted the 3D version which I was hoping to see.

Hopefully a 3D version will make it's way across the water to Europe soon?

Yes. Sorry to say that I wouldn't expect that to happen since they had their chance last year and didn't take it.

Finally got around to watching my copy last night, and not only was Alton's photography excellent (master class in composition, IMO), but I enjoyed the hell out of the film. I'd place it only below Dial M for Murder and The Glass Web as far as my personal film enjoyment for 50s 3D cinema (I've seen 22 of them now in 3D). I guess I like my 3D to revolve around murder mysteries.

This is definitely one of my favourite noirs as well. Alton truly was the master of light.

Just dropped down to $21.98 at Amazon. Shows as Temporarily OOS, but you can still order it.

I should also mention that its currently at a new low of $19.98 directly from CF. They have a flat shipping rate of $4.99, and several other titles currently on sale

Does anyone know if this disc would work with the Panasonic top menu trick in Region B?

[edit] I’ll find out myself soon.

The UHD is region free, but the BD is region A locked.

It does not work with the bypass trick. I'll rip the Blu-Ray to my NAS and I can still play the 3-D with a media player device.
