Lies of P Trailer and hype

I’m in for this game, it reminds me of Vampyr from 2018 I loved that game. I’m going to have to compare editions with PS5 & Series X and see which one is better and then pre order.

Downloaded the demo this past weekend. I only got to the Stargazer.

Today, I finally beat the first boss! OMG! Took at least 15 tries. Boss is relatively easy, but having to learn his last phase was a bit tricky. Currently @ Sophia.

- Graphics looks better than Bloodborne
- only 6 attributes to upgrade
- dodging is weird and will take getting used to
- sword has a short swing & reminds me of Sekiro

I need to get a better understanding of the menu screens. Weapon needs to be repaired. I haven’t figured out how to do that. I haven’t got the timing on the parries.

Overall, game is fun.

Defeated another boss......Mad Donkey. This took 2 tries. I used the same strategy from the first boss. I

[Show spoiler] block the first swing and dodge forward to avoid the second swing attack.

Hopefully, all bosses uses this same strat.

I wasn't able to upgrade my attributes at the Stargazer anymore. I was confused. Then, I realized that Sophia is the person to upgrade my stats. Currently @ Level 27.

I did that too, I was on level 16 for too long, and ended up under-levelled for a lot of the demo and at least a boss from what I remember. It was like I never played a Dark Souls game.

I just found out that you can equip Amulets, which are similar to Dark Souls' Rings. There were 2 Amulets available. I am still learning this game.

Defeated another boss......Scrapped Watchman. This boss was the toughest out of the 3. Wow! His 2nd phase attacks were tricky, but I finally figured it out.

Lies of P is a new soulslike from developer Neowiz Games. You play as the famous puppet Pinocchio, but the world of Krat isn't nearly as bright and colorful as the Disney cartoon most remember. Instead, Lies of P places you in a dark version of the children's fantasy tale, and you'll need to fight off gruesome beasts in your quest to become a "real boy." The grim tale will also provide players with plenty of replay options, as director Cho Ji-Won recently announced that Lies of P has three different endings for players to uncover.

In a recent Gamescom interview with DualShockers, Choi said, "One thing we planned in advance is that you wouldn't want to play it just once. If you have only played it once, then it's not complete."

Lies of P, the upcoming Bloodborne-inspired action-RPG Soulslike based around the story of Pinocchio, featured an “All Cops Are Bastards” sign at one point. But if you go looking for it in the final game when it launches on September 19, you might come up empty-handed because the text was cut.

In an interview with GLHF, the media side of the content agency of the same name, game director Ji-Won Choi spoke about his Pinocchio-influenced game. During the conversation, which took place before this year’s Gamescom, GLHF asked Choi what happened to the “APAB” (“All Puppets Are Bastards”) sign that was featured in Lies of P’s early promotional materials. Choi replied that it was removed for being “risky” and possibly having negative effects on players’ experiences.

Lots of streamers playing this game early. Purchasing the deluxe digital gave 3 day early access. I almost thought about buying it so I could play it. Looks to be a candidate for Game of the Year.

I dont know if I should talk about this here or in the Ps5 update thread.

I wasn't paying attention when I received the PS5 update with Dolby Atmos, but realized when installing Lies of P.

I've been looking forward to getting a game with Atmos because I wanted to compare it to Auro3D.

Game installed and the game weather is rainy, I felt it would be a good example/test for Atmos, but none of the atmos speakers have sound. My 7 surround speaker are playing audio, but not the 4 atmos.

I went back to Auro3D which is using the height speakers, but with that short time, the Dolby Atmos(even without heights being used) sounded much better than the Auro3D using heights. Seem like the effects are coming from the wrong speakers.

Just made it past the third boss. I struggled heavily with the first boss. I’m not much of a Souls-player. Which is why it’s kind of odd, even to me, that I defeated both the second and third bosses on my first attempt. I’m enjoying it so far. I like that they give you shortcuts to unlock everywhere so that getting back to where you died is usually easy, and having a short, quick path to the next boss.

I only have one dislike so far. The game goes from extremely easy to 'You not gonna finish this game' mode.

Other than that, I love it!!

I’m done with the game. Made it to the Workshop boss. That bastard is just cheap as all hell. I’m too old to have the reflexes to land the perfect party with how small the window is for it in this game. I uninstalled and this game will be forgotten for me. I’ve never gotten into this genre. I play games for fun. This genre only puts me in a bad mood.
