Default TMNT: The Last Ronin

Quote:
Who is the Last Ronin? In a future, battle-ravaged New York City, a lone surviving Turtle embarks on a seemingly hopeless mission seeking justice for the family he lost.

From the minds of the creators of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and based on the best-selling comic book event by Eastman, Waltz, Bishop, Delgado, and the Escorza Brothers: the official video game adaptation of TMNT: The Last Ronin.

Coming to PlayStation®5.
Apparently the combat will be similar to GoW 2018

This story is supposed to be amazing and really powerful for the TMNT lore, so i sincerely hope they can do it justice. It needs the best possible combat, story and cinematics to represent it so i do hope they pull it off. Would be amazing and do well imo.

The comics are great. However once again this is confirmed as several years away. Non gameplay reveals are my absolute favorite.

There was an amazing fan done YouTube video for this as an animated movie and i wouldn't be surprised if it served as a little but of inspiration but damn if i wouldn't love a live action movie/show looking as good as that CGI fan effort.

At the book store last week, I was actually going through The Last Ronin TMNT compiled comic book, and noticed April O'Neil was an old lady, so it's set far into the future, where I think only Raphael (?) is a lone turtle fighting evil of some kind. I never read the series yet.

A new video game sounds like a new idea for the Turtles. Looks like the trailer doesn't reveal any actual gameplay, so it's probably only in the concept stages and another couple years before it surfaces as a game.

Yeah, this story is actually set far into the future and has an interesting time skip and story. I just hope that they can really capture great gameplay and open world traversal, but i have a feeling its much more likely to be a bit more linear. If so, Arkham Asylum would be a great example to follow, and Arkham City if open world.

This is made by the same people as Bubsy for some reason. Don't get excited.

I don’t think an actual studio has been named yet. THQ Nordic is merely the publisher.

It showed these guys at the end on the logo, so it seems they may very well be handling a part of it if not the actual game itself.

That said, i'm hoping for the best merely based on the IP they're trying to adapt. It's really an awesome bit of TMNT lore, and mature. Hopefully it'll be done justice.

I'm confused - your earlier posts didn't make it sound like you have even read it, yet you think it's awesome?

I technically haven't read the comic in person, but i watched a YouTube channel called Variant Comics which do a full on spoiler breakdown of the story, so i'm familiar with it and how it played out.

Even online, you will see a lot of praise towards it. So i'm hoping that clarifies if it sounds like i'm fully familiar, that i'm not but at the same time, with any adaptation there's scope to bringing the core beats of the story and adding to it where needed, so hope its done well.

Cool! Black Forest games made the fun Destroy All Humans 2 for PS5 (and DAH1 too, which is good, but not as good as 2). A solid, fun open world game with excellent graphics and gameplay IMO.
They also made the game, Fade to Silence, set in snowlands.

A Turtles game where he can stalk the criminals from the rooftops like Batman would be great.

[Show spoiler]It is Michaelango

One of the top 10 stories I have read. It's and alternative universe so they have freedom to change things. Besides the turtle one of the main charaters is Casey Jones and April's Daughter. Everything about this story and book is fantastic.

Don't know what that means. But I've been replaying games in the Cowabunga collection on and off the past few weeks and have been really liking the turtle gaming!

He meant they were the developers of that game and as such, not to expect great things.

Personally i feel that some studios don't necessarily intend to make a crap game, but inexperience and so on, as well as exec meddling can sometimes lead to that game and down the line, the developers feel more grounded and able to be free to make much better games. Apparently as mentioned above, they also did a solid job on Destroy All Humans and its sequel.

I will always judge a product by the final result, but i guess a track record does help people. That's why without playing GTA 6 for example, people have high expectations or when it was Red Dead 2.
