Finally. Under-rated sequel. No, it isn't as good as 'Mask' but damn if it ain't an entertaining follow-up with a lot of heart.

Now, ready to get nuts, Sony?

Give me 2007's deliciously cheesy Ghost Rider next. I need me Nic Cage pointing at everything (and everyone) in 4K HDR. I salivate at such tremendous sophistication. A real transcendent cinematic masterpiece that would make Martin Scorsese himself stand in sheer astonishment at how such a terrific, well written, brilliantly directed movie it is.

Ghost Rider > The entire MCU. Fight me.

So they drop the BD but port over the extras to the 4K disc, while the, just announced, I Still Know What You Did gets both discs. There's really no consistency with Sony's releases anymore.

I think it was determined that the Sony catalogue 4k's that were only the UHD disc and digital, minus the BD are MOD releases.

I was convinced we would never get the 1st one in UK and imported. It eventually turned up with a nice Steelbook so perhaps its a wait and see or because Warners and Paramount have increased there releases with mixed results Sony are joining in. At least Sony can put out a constant stream of good 4k releases.

I got my copy a few days early. Not a whole lot to say other than it looks good and sounds good on my set-up. I’d never seen the movie before and liked it quite a bit. Disc was surprisingly clean for once, I’ve had bad luck with scratched discs lately.

It looks strong but, truth be told, the original BD was a very solid piece of work so though this is an uptick qualitatively from the 1080p disc, it’s not watershed. Be aware that the 4K adds the teaser and trailer but leaves off the BD’s multi-angle features (“Armand's Party” [2:37] and “Winery Fight” [0:53]), so completists will want to keep both discs.

Seeing this, I am trying to remember why I picked up the SteelBook reissue of the other film. Was the original one missing an audio track, on screen titles, or a pop up was eliminated? Or was this one where I picked it up mostly for the art. Obviously the latter can't be answered by anyone, but disc specs can. Seeing this with a slip kind of makes me like that standard edition's case and slip for consistency, unless they do a SteelBook of this one also.

It’s a Dolby Vision reissue for sure which prior lacked, assuming the old one had that pop up that’s eliminated also. Most of the Sony repackagings are to add Dolby Vision.

English, French and Spanish, so it seems geared for the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
