Well this came out of nowhere. Shout will be releasing Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022) on 4K UHD in December. Extras are in progress.

The first and last parts of the movie I thought were hilarious. The second act with Madonna was not as great and drags the movie down a bit.

Cool. I've been wanting to watch this but never got around to it, due to it being on some streaming service I never used.

I know Weird Al might not be the most popular entertainer, but he has a loyal fanbase. Surprised it wasn't released to one of the bigger streaming services like Netflix or Max where it probably would have done better (however that gets judged for streaming).

Ahh, I knew it would come from Shout. Much sooner than I was expecting, though it would be a year since its Roku release.

This is great news, very excited. Loved the movie simply for how good the parody is, though I know the film is not perfect, the Madonna part really does drag the movie.

This movie was natively shot in 4K digitally and has digital grain but still looks fantastic. The Umbrella UHD was okay, but not perfect. I thought for example the letterboxing was weird and the movie looks stretched picture wise to me. This one may have extras, and, if we're lucky, maybe even Dolby Vision or Atmos, so.. yeah I'm very excited for this one.

Wife and I are both longtime fans of Al but never got around to watching because of where it’s streaming but I’ll blind buy this for sure.

I didn't think this would get a 4k release here in the states! I got the Umbrella 4k set when it was released. Depending on the extras, I'll pick this one up too.

I already imported the Umbrella UHD, so it'll depend on what extras this release includes before I decide to double dip.
