VGC is reporting that a ransomware group claims to have stolen data from Sony and plans to sell it, Sony chose not to pay the ransom. No formal (media) response from Sony at this time, and no third party cybersecurity company has verified the claims. If the data breach turns out to be real, there is no indication right now that it impacts Sony Interactive Entertainment/PlayStation.

yeah I also have 2 factor. Without my phone my password is useless to them. plus if they try to use it I'll know because I'll get the text lol

Good to hear they probably weren't able to get the passwords, though it's better safe than sorry since these are criminals being dealt with.

Does anyone have issues with getting code messages with regards to Sony/PSN's 2-step verification process?
I choose 2-step verificiation for every site and always get the verification code message within seconds, but for some reason not with Sony and I have to choose "resend code" several times before I finally get the verification code. |
