Screaming for Vengeance era Priest or Defenders
Pantera
Metallica One era
Download Festival
Dio Holy Diver era
Extreme (III era)
Monsters of Rock festivals !!!
Woodstock II and III - ie Godsmack/Sevendust
Better Korn than what's out there
Disturbed

Now that I've seen how good Faith No More is now - Faith No More. Is it just me or did the singer used to sound terrible/out of breath live all the time. Now he sounds great.

What is "One era"? Ohhh, do you mean like the "Justice"-era?

And for KoRn they should find the masters for the "Sydney"-show, during the tour for 'Follow The Leader'.
I just love the performance and sound of that show.
They could make a great new release out of it too, whether it would be HD or not.
Too bad it's too late for a "10th Anniversary"-thing (for the album) or something like that.

Very strict, yes Justice.

Although I am fascinated by how many good songs are named One

Metallica
U2
Harry Nilsson (made famous by Three Dog Night)

Which in turn reminds me of my favorite Family Guy

Joe Satriani - Metallica - Rammstein
Dream Theater - Rob Zombie - Trans Siberian Orchestra
Tool, Pink Floyd and Metallica would be awesome, I'd also put Pearl Jam in there.

Satriani has a new concert film coming out in October I believe.

Met him at a Meet & Greet last April in Dublin, I asked if he would please release the new record in SACD but he said it was a dying format

I then asked him about releasing a bluray from the Musterion tour and he clammed up, hummed and hawed and didn't answer. 2 weeks later the concert dvd was announced. He admitted he's an audiophile and has shot a concert in HD before so here's hoping

We also discussed AC/DC on bluray until his road manager told me to shut up so that someone else could speak.

Maiden needs to release The Early Years, and without question, Live After Death. I'm sure Metallica will do their next one in Blu, and maybe their prior releases too? Whitesnake's last one. Not that Satriani & Vai are "metal", but I'd like their stuff in Blu...maybe RUSH:Exit Stage Left? KISS is leaving $ on the table if they don't double dip KISSOLOGY in Blu. Though they really need to get better source material.

P.S. The Halford BD, I thought, was very disapointing in terms of PQ/AQ. I guess he or his backers didn't want to invest in really making that a worthy BD experience? It's really no improvement over the dvd.

Those are some great suggestions.

I would add:
  • Iron Maiden - the show from Sweden on the Eddie's Archives tour that was broadcast on TV. I have a bootleg DVD set and it's awesome. Best setlist they ever played. (Better than Somewhere Back in Time, IMO.)
  • Heaven and Hell - Live at Radio City Music Hall
  • Metallica - Rock am Ring Festival 2006 where they played all of Master of Puppets. (This was filmed in HD broadcast on TV in Europe.)
  • AC/DC - Stiff Upper Lip (I know, not metal. Who cares?)
  • Iron Maiden - Maiden England
  • Anthrax - Sonipshere 2009 with John Bush (This show was filmed in HD.)
  • Iron Maiden - Download Festival from 2006 or 2007 - when they were touring for A Matter of Life and Death (I have two songs from this show that were broadcast on TV.)
  • Megadeth - That One Night in Buenos Aires (THe DTS sound on the DVD is impressive.)
  • Megadeth - Blood in the Water: live in San Diego (This was broadcast on HDNet but never released it. I'm glad I could save it on AVCHD discs, but blu-ray would be so much better with the lossless sound.)
  • Black Sabbath - Download Festival 2005 - sure the set was boring, but it was shot in HD. Black Sabbath is done for with Ozzy suing Tony. Better than nothing. Three songs from this are on the Ozzfest 10th Anniversary DVD, which is also on blu-ray.

Fortunately I had a friend warn me about the crappy production of the Halford blu-ray. I had a feeling it wouldn't be worth the upgrade from DVD.

I don't remember exactly if I already mentioned these, but here goes:

- Godsmack - Changes
- Iron Maiden - Rock In Rio

Both already on excellent DVDs with multiple sound-options and features,
that would translate excellent, and probably better, to BD too.

They both already look quite colorful and everything.
But seeing them a couple of years later, like 'Changes' yesterday, they look pretty messy in ways.

Like the Godsmack-title, according to the box it's shot in HD,
that's good but the DVDs video looks pretty blurry and quite light.
I think they had to sacrifice some quality to get space.
As it's a documentary/concert, with the use of some type of branching,
as there are different mixes of concert alone and some mixed with documentary.
Besides that it holds FOUR audio-tracks too:
One being PCM 2.0, one DD5.1 with Circle Surround, one plain DD5.1 (I guess) and also a DTS5.1-track.
So, there's quite a lot on there even though it's "just" the film/concert and a photo-gallery.
It's a lot to handle for a DVD as you know.
I really hope they'll transfer it again to BD, because, even though I think the DVD is a top-music-title,
it could definitely use a good fix in video and also a bit better audio.
Besides, seamless branching, perhaps a longer and higher-quality photo-gallery
and perhaps some more extras would just top it off.
Well, for the "seamless" branching, they would have to kind of place the tracks right.
Cause I believe some of the live songs the documentary-version have been cut down,
like... they mixed it with the documentary and abbreviated the live-track playing in the background.
But they should really just try and match it up, or just make it less seamless, which I'd be fine with,
as long as you can switch on the fly.
Otherwise perhaps make it a slightly different cut.

For the 'Rock In Rio'-one... it's funny cause it feels like a similar DVD.
Just the whole package besides that there are two discs, so many more extras.
It's also really good, but the video is quite bad sometimes, the audio is probably better.
It also has Stereo PCM I think, at least DD5.1 and DTS5.1.
I don't know how it was shot in 2001 in Rio, but it definitely deserves an HD-treatment.
Oh yeah, something cool would be to release both the DVD-version and the live TV-version in Rio.
Or even better yet, branch that! lol
Oh hell yeah, replace the lame limited multiple-angle-tracks with a full second angle/track.
Hm, I wonder...
I just read that it's shot by 18 cameras, but I guess putting all that on one disc
would have to wait until the next format.
However, MAYBE they could do it with say 6-7 tracks (band, player1, player2, etc.),
then have the multi-angle-feature with each angle under the numbers.
They should really do that, create the angles-feature so it will map under the number-buttons.

I think I mentioned these titles before, at least the Maiden-one.
Cause I remember saying that I want to see it IN WIDESCREEN.
Well, depends if it was shot that way, I would think so.
Then again if they were local TV-cameras, I don't know,
I think the "DVD-recording" would be a separate crew of course.
But anyway, eventually I found it weird it was in 4:3 being shot in like 2001 with DVD in mind.
The Godsmack-one looks great in full 16:9 though.

lol Sorry for the long post... creative outburst...

Godsmack and SlipKnoT.
Not to say they're on everyone's wishlist though, but they have some ridiculously awesome DVDs.

Also, there are already 2 of KoRn on BD.

Hey, maybe it would be cool and handy if you could make the list of current releases to be links, as such:

KoRn - Live At Montreux 2004

or

KoRn - Live At Montreux 2004

Not sure if there are buttons to do this more easily though.
Otherwise you could also just add the links after each title, like this:

Korn: Live at Montreux 2004 - https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Korn-...4-Blu-ray/846/
Korn: Live on the Other Side - https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Korn-...-Blu-ray/1008/

No problem.

I forgot another couple of bands that have some awesome DVDs:

- Dimmu Borgir: They have this live-DVD in support of the last album.
But I'd also love to see the Ozzfest-DVD of 2005 in some better quality.
The image is quite fine, but I think the audio is just OK, but maybe it just can't be better.
And I believe they also played at a Woodstock... maybe 1999...
MetallicA too, I'd love to finally see that released, it's only been on VHS I believe.
They should just release the whole festival on BD. lol
Cause there have been many great bands on that one.

- Cradle Of Filth: They have some cool DVDs too.
One is called... this ridiculous title... ehm...
Well, something in the sense of "Live and Left-handed Camera Wanking" or something...
But one, I also still have to see completely, is 'Peace Through Superior Firepower'.
Which is a little bigger concert and awesomely shot and the audio-recording is just slamming away.

Oh, we don't have to doubt that, but it's weird they mentioned it will be "for a DVD".
Probably the n00bness of the people announcing it. lol :P

But then, I'm not really looking forward to it for MetallicA's playing.
Even thought it would be interesting to see them go at it as always.
It would be cool to just SEE though, especially in HD and the show they have for that tour in particular.

God damnit MetallicA... no Deluxe set for the BD?!
Well, it would probably turn out pricey again, so I guess it's for the better in my case. lol

The setlist is also OK, at least it got SOME variation over the last half decade or so.
But like I said before, it looks like the show itself will be pretty awesome.
I mean, just look at the location alone. XD
Did they have to play softer because otherwise the building would collapse? :P
There was this band before, I think Genesis, who played in Italy or something
and were banned from playing there because they damaged old buildings. XD

Oh, and no 'Damage, Inc.'? Booo... They could have left out 'Nothing Else Matters' or something.
Pretty tired of that song to be honest... especially played live by MetallicA alone,
unless they kinda expanded it with acoustic guitars or backing-tracks or something this time around.
Sorry to complain, just being honest. :P

Good thing about 'Broken, Beat & Scarred' though, probably my favorite from the last album.
I wish they'd have played 'My Apocalypse' for the opening-track,
but barely anything beats 'Blackened' though.
