Miramax Lands ‘Halloween’ TV Rights In Broad Agreement With Trancas, Plots Cinematic Universe

Get ready for the MMCU — the Michael Myers Cinematic Universe.

Miramax has secured TV rights to Halloween and will develop a series based on the long-running horror franchise. The company made a broad deal with rights holder Trancas International Films that covers not only a TV series, but also related projects for international markets and, potentially, a linked universe spanning TV and film. No writer is attached yet.

Miramax produced the David Gordon Green’s 2018-22 Halloween trilogy along with Trancas and Blumhouse Productions. During a former incarnation of the company, Miramax’s Dimension films was behind five of the movies in the 13-film franchise.

I saw all the films from the first to Resurrection, except for Halloween III since Michael wasn't in it. But after that, I just gave up - the 2002 movie made Michael far too powerful. For example, there's one brief scene where he cuts a guy's entire head off with an average kitchen knife. I know these kinds of stories are built on an escape from reality, but even something like that was completely ridiculous. And honestly, I wasn't a fan of Halloween 6 either, tying Michael's appearances to a Druid-like cult called Thorn. I was always more pleased when they kept Michael more human, instead of depicting him as some kind of demonic force that would never be stopped. I never saw either of the Rob Zombie entries, and I skipped the more recent installments as well. I like Jamie Lee Curtis as an actress, but I think the time was long overdue for Laurie Strode to retire.

Halloween 3 was a really good standalone Halloween movie though I understand fans not liking due to Michael Myers missing and all.

I enjoyed watching it twice, but on my third session I just found it kinda boring and the final scene... It was accurate for its time,

Guy should have been dead after the first movie but just wont succumb to his massive injuries. Wow. He must know a great doctor that he sees off screen. .

Being shot point blank in BOTH eye sockets didnt even cause blindness, I guess. This has been silly and dumb now since like the 2nd or 4th film.
