the only difference between the UK storefront images and the version I got on Monday is that it's in a standard black case with the banner, not the black scanavo that the images were sorta implying.

4K disc is Region Free. The 2K is Region locked, and depends on whether you buy it in the US or UK.

I'm fine with it being region locked as I have a region free player, but wish they would've been more clear with that. The US version had a photo on Amazon that shows the disc was locked to region A. There was no picture for the UK version that showed it would be region B.

Assuming the photos are accurate and the US includes both discs, despite the blurriness, you can tell it says 4K is RF while the 2K is A-locked. Again, it’s very low in resolution, but if you look closely enough, you can see.

My copy from UK is in transit. I never owned a Mubi 4k disc before so how is the picture quality? I am not checking anything on YouTube etc to avoid any possible spoilers since it's a blind buy for me.

This is just assumptions based on how the previous was. Decision to Leave US bluray release did not come with slipcover or art cards like the UK did.

Flicked through the film, and compared to the German UHD it more or less seems identical from what I've seen. No obvious discrepancies in regards to colours or anything either. The only real difference between the two seems to be in the Atmos track, with the mediainfo reporting 15 dynamic objects vs 11 on the German UHD. No idea how much difference that realistically makes as I don't have anything that supports Atmos playback.

Also worth noting that the UHD retains all the extras from the BD, encoded at double the bitrate (20mbps vs 10mbps on the BD) however both are x264 CBR encoded. In fact everything on the disc, including the menu, but excluding the main movie file, is once again SDR 1080p x264 encoded like the BD was. The subs are also the same as the BD (dullish white rather than grey) albeit positioned slightly higher, although the previously broken subtitle is now rather humorously half way up the screen, rather than off the bottom of it.

Just got my copy of the US 4K one in from Bullmoose and I’m not sure how many are being printed so it’s possible they go OOP fast, but my copy actually did come with a slipcover on top of both 4K and 2K discs. No art cards, but that doesn’t bother me. The slipcover and inclusion of both discs alone are huge wins in my book.

Nope, it’s definitely legitimate. Bullmoose is a reputable retailer with multiple locations in the US (I preordered this and A THOUSAND AND ONE together to get free shipping). Also, as I still have yet to resell my standalone 2K disc, can confirm the 2K in the 4K set is identical to that. And then the 4K disc has the same artwork but with 4K UHD/DV/DA logos in place of the standard Blu-Ray disc logo.

I ordered mine from them on Tuesday morning and it showed up today. I was surprised 1. at how quick and 2. that it came with a slip.
