But why? I like the first one but wasn’t exactly coming away from it asking for more. Blumhouse will literally slap a number 2 on anything that turns profit.

At least with M3GAN and Five Nights at Freddy’s you can see the franchise-ability of them.

It was a good movie. But it wasn't so good that it needed a sequel. I'm guessing that Scott Derrickson won't be back to direct.

Sweet, another horror franchise to run into the ground.

If Joe has come up with a good sequel idea, I'm in. If this is just Uni/Blumhouse in greedy franchise mode, no thanks.

Meh... I'll only watch it if Derrickson directs, and even so I'll do it without much enthusiasm.

If Scott Derrickson comes back and he can come up with another great story, then I'm all for it.

Teddy: What happened?
Gordie: What do you mean?
Teddy: I mean, what happened?
Gordie: What do you mean what happened, that's the end.
Teddy: How can that be the end, what kind of an ending is that?

I thought they’d go the prequel route, now I have no idea what they’re doing since the whole cast is returning.

My wife and I were thinking the same thing. She actually loved the movie (I did too) which shocked me, and as soon as we saw that news we said it'd have to be that he's a
[Show spoiler]ghost
.

I would have preferred a prequel personally, but I will remain cautiously optimistic, and hope for the best.

How is Ethan Hawke coming back?
[Show spoiler] He got his neck snapped at the end of the first movie.

Loved the first one and feel it should have been a one and done film.

But since this is happening whether I like it or not, I'll for sure check it out and hope it's just as good as the first.
