Default Watchmen removed from Amazon Inventory (Back Up...)

Amazon displays the following message

"While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)

We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible."

Is there a problem with the disc that I dont know about?

As far as I can tell, there were a lot of copies of Watchmen that didn't play properly. Makes one wonder how hard Warner Brothers' QC worked on this particular release.

Kind of weird. I remember Iron Man had a problem before it's release but Paramount recalled all the discs and still got it out on time.

I wonder what happened.

It may also be because a lot of copies didn't come with the slip cover

Maybe they were annoying Dr. Manhatten and he just wanted them to leave him alone?

Interesting. Amazon must have experienced a significant amount of problems/returns. This shows how important QC is.

Right. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in inventory held up because a piece of paper not needed to play the movie isn't there.

My copy from Amazon that came with the Owl Ship plays fine, ditto for the disk with the Special Features. My other copy from Best Buy (with the lenticular cover) also plays ok, both disks. Don't know about the Digital Copy in either set, don't care. Won't use them anyways.

I don't doubt that but I find it very hard to believe that Amazon took a major release offline to make the most anal 1% are appeased. I think they would live with the amount of returns they got for that reason rather than temporarily remove the entire product.

You could be right though. Human beings are not predicatble at all.
