Yay...Andor Season 2 can get shooting again...but now I have to stay alive through 2025 to see it...looks like I picked the wrong year to get addicted to horse tranquilizers...

Studios will NOT want to deal with this again, so expect any demands the actors make before their current deal expires to be hammered out WELL in advance.

Well, I'm glad the strike is over. Hopefully most of the actors can be treated fairly now, and get not just more money but also the respect they deserve from their peers.

But was there any real reform, were the problems being solved? So tired am I of mediocre products, soapboxing, and streaming service shenanigans as a consumer, but I won't hold my breath that this will resolve that.
There was a lot of what the youngins call "hopium" that the two big strikes would be cover to expel the hacks, goldbrickers, and saboteurs. Same folks predicted pretty much the day-and-date of the strikes ending, so here's hoping. |

The Hollywood studios blinked by the look of it.
It seems the only thing their care about - their profits - were so negatively impacted by 4 months of strikes, that the incoming earnings calls was the last straw. I can't recall a year with so many mid-big budget flops - and a couple of unexpected hits - as 2023. The winner from all of this, is European and Asian cinema; theaters here have filled the gap with foreign films, that otherwise wouldn't have been released theatrically in the major chains, as well as music events, concert films and re-releases of older films. |

Honestly, I'm all but 'meh' about the news. On the plus side we can see Rachel Zegler putting her size 10's in her mouth again - "weird weird" ![]() ![]() |

They should just cancel Andor Season 2, it will take focus away from the main storyline, which is Thrawn's return

So glad they reached a deal. I know the specifics haven't been released yet, but it sounds like they were able to work out some really good deals regarding AI, background actors, streaming, etc. Happy for them, and selfishly happy that work can resume and we can get our stuff back sooner!
Hopefully the studios have seen that SAG-AFTRA isn't willing to relent and will totally strike again if need be, so they can work something out before the next contract expires. |
