So I just got a ps3. My girl refuses to let me hook it up to our big screen. So I sold my comp monitor and now I need to by something to play comp games, ps3 and why not, BRD's. I have $750 at my disposal. If the TV I really needed was a little more expensive than that. I could possibly go a little higher. But it would have to be an ectreme step-up.
So I would love a 37" 1080p. But it looks like 32" are the ones in the 750 range. I've been looking at the 120hz lg, samsung, and so on. I've also been looking at reviews and such but they tend to lack info that a pc gamer would be interested in. Most importantly, input lag. I spent some time in monitor forums with no real answers. I figured i'de talk to the tv pros. What I would like 1. Low input lag 2. Desent respawnce time. 15ms W-B 3. Maybe 120hz. You tell me. No 3:2 pulldown sounds nice but I never notice studder on my bigscreen. 4. Nice picture, low bleed. Last edited by Eppidemic; 07-31-2009 at 05:04 PM. |

From what I can tell plasmas are better as far as lags on games are concerned, that being said, static images from games can cause burn-ins on plasmas after hours of game playing. In any case there's the following Sammy 37" 1080p lcd for $709 at amazon that should fit your budget....

several 40-42" models from best buy for under 750.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....getype=listing Also several 32-37" models under 700. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....A%3E1900-01-01 If you are not opposed to Vizios you can get more size for your buck as well. Last edited by slaizer2000; 07-31-2009 at 05:54 PM. |

![]() In my case, I just helped my wife "learn" that the PS3 would benefit her, and that is why it's there. I have to watch a chick-flik once-in-a-while to keep her from complaining. ![]() Let me know if you need help with that ![]() |

Thanks guys for the links. But a few more questions. Non of those are 120hz or list the input lag in there stats. Am I to assume that those TV's all have low lag and that 120hz is a pointless technology? I guess what I was wondering if there was a consenses in the forum of what brand or model TV was "best for pc gaming". If those links are infact the best. Just let me know.
I'm not opposed to any brand. So long as the warranty is goog and is of high quality. Maybe I'm not realizing that all TV are esencially the same? So get the biggest one for the best price? Or just buy the one that looks the best at the store... I'm worried about that cause some might just have a bad video sorce running to it. Please add a little more detail if possible. I want to learn!! Thank you |

120hz is fairly new mate...you're not gonna get it given the budget constraints. Well you could but they would be 720p! Keep in mind my know-how as far as gaming on an hdtv is concerned is next to nothing.

I have located 2 120hz TV's. One an LG and the other a Panisonic Visor or something. Both gor $759. and a Samsung 120hz for $850. All I believe were 32" or 37". Probably 32". So your saying I should jump on any of those offers? It sounds like I should. Would you guys get the Samy, Lg, or Pany?

Figured i'de kill my thread. I got the Samy LN32b650. I got it for $799 and I love it. No ghosting and no noticeable lag. The picture is just like the review said and the best blacks on the market in non LED TV's. Recommended!!
