Noice. I had a feeling they'd release one for the first movie, so I skipped the regular 4K release. I'll definitely grab this one when it comes out.

nope not doing it, the transfer looks terrible and while this steelbook looks nice not worth double dipping

Nice steelbook, but the "A" on the spine is annoyingly stupid. Won't be buying it, regardless.

okay this steelbook is pointless cause there's a 4 disc set and they did not bother to put those new 4 discs into the new steelbook, why repurpose the old theatrical 4k discs when the new discs are gonna have dolby vision

IMHO, the Avatar experience must be in 3D.

the 3D disc has been around since 2009, can be found on the cheap - not really any need to include it here.

Day 1 for me! Good artwork too, but unless you are a mega-fan of the film, like I am, there is no point in double-dipping if you already bought the 4K earlier this year.

I knew this was coming. It just would have been nice if Disney released it back when the 4K first came out.

Look carefully at the image. This steelbook is NOT of the new Collector’s Edition. It has the same 3 discs from the previous edition released in June. Very misleading. The 4 disc collectors edition comes in a thicc box with paper sleeve packaging.

Regarding 3D, the extended versions of AVATAR have never been released on disc in 3D before now tmk.

Really difficult to discern from that press release whether the DV will be on the 4K UHD discs or streaming only. Hopefully both though.

Yeah, it's difficult to tell.

I also don't know exactly what is "new" about this release in terms of content aside from the packaging.

I am not sure what "new" bonus content they have included here, unless they are including the old special features from the original 3D collector's edition, which I have held onto since it came out.

Same here! Looks great!

I can’t even remember now the issues people had with the disc though.
