M*A*S*H Appreciation Thread! - Blu-ray Forum

Well one of the all-time greats is coming to Blu-ray Sept. 1st, M*A*S*H! Let's hope Fox does a stellar job with this one, Let's hear who you're favorite character from the movie is, and favorite quotes too! I would say my favorite would probably be Walter "Radar" O' Rielly since he also went on to star in the classic show as well. I guess my favorite quote is "This isn't a hospital,this is an insane asylum and it's your fault!" You can use the TV show if you like also! Add some trivia if you like as well! This thread is dedicated to everything 4077!

That's a cool idea for a thread Mr.White!

M*A*S*H is without a doubt the best TV show ever IMO. To pick a favourite is really difficult as all the actors that portrayed the various characters were amazing. Even the very unlikeable Frank Burns. I have to think now about some famous quotes, but my mind is drawing a blank at the moment. I'll get back to you on that one no doubt.

I've never seen the film...

But I watch reruns of the show nearly everyday on Ion. I think I'll blind buy this'un.

Love the show, do not appreciate the film for what it is, never found it as funny as the show. As for a quote, cannot think of one. As for a character, they where all good.

Thanks, I got it today

, my dad signed upfor DMR he got the email on July 25th for the free blu,he let me pick it out under the conditon that it was a title the whole family could enjoy, I picked "Enchanted" since I had "National Treasure" and "Meet The Robinsons" already on blu, had no interest in "The Game Plan" or HSM 2.

Here's some trivia: I don't know if many people know this but Gary Burghoff's left hand is deformed, he usually was holding something like a clipboard or hiding it all together. It is most noticeable in the the beginning of the pilot episode when he is holding a football right before the credits start.

Without the movie, there would have been no TV series.

The movie is good, but the series - through all 11 seasons, was some of the best episodic television ever produced. I hope that the movie sells well enough that Fox brings the series to Blu-ray in the future.

Who out there knows the title to the M*A*S*H theme song without Googling? Cheating not allowed.

I always found the song choice rather ironic considering the setting for the show was a triage hospital.

M*A*S*H is a great movie. Take the time to watch it again. Pay more attention to the stuff happening behind the main character action. Atlman is a master of using the entire frame to tell the story not just what is happening with the main actors action.

The song is called "Suicide is Painless'" or sometimes known as "Mash Theme" It was written by the late Robert Altman's son!

I never really cared for the TV series too much, but I'm a huge fan of the movie. Such a great satire of the insanity of war.

Hoping Fox does a sweet job on the PQ.

Favorite lines? Far too many, but this exchange always comes to mind...
