Germany Mute Witness (Anthony Waller, 1995) Stumme Zeugin 4K UHD Mediabook

Guys,

I was surprised that there is no thread existing for Mute Witness by Anthony Waller from 1995 (Stumme Zeugin, which is the german title).

The only topic I could find is the Wish Lists (https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?p=18750316).

Nameless Media Germany premieres both the 4K UHD and Blu-ray.

The movie has only been available on DVD so far, no matter what country.

What´s more, picture and sound have been remastered.

Three artworks are available, 500 copies each (numbered).
Depending on the artwork each mediabook comes with different parts of glossy elements.

Anthony Waller also directed An American Werewolf in Paris
(1997).

Rumor has it, that Arrow Video will also release Mute Witness next year.

Here´s my unboxing video

I remember seeing the dvd release when it first came out. I really liked the film...whether it will hold up 28 years later, who knows?

🤫 STUMME ZEUGIN (Mute Witness, 1995) Limited Mediabook Cover A (4K UHD + Blu-ray) - YouTube
Is it English friendly? Are there english subs for the non English speaking parts? I'm tempted to pick this up.

You are correct....I must have seen it on VHS. At my age, I'm lucky to remember seeing the movie much less the media it was presented on.

I saw this film as a Double Feature with Four Rooms in the theatre in early 1996.

Can’t remember much about the film, but might have to check this out.

Default German and English

No English subtitles though it is 90% English language anyway. The Russian bita don't have English subtitles weirdly but the film is completely watchable because the main actors all speak English.

I always thought that lack of subs for some of the scenes where characters were speaking in Russian was intentional as a device to allow the viewer to feel somewhat shut out from being able to communicate just like the deaf character is.
