Got the trailer for this when I saw Poor Things - everyone in the screening laughed when the title was revealed, much like The Bye Bye Man.

Gotta say, it looks a hell of a lot like a rip off of Talk To Me with the talking to the dead and time limit premise. It all looks so...generic.

The audience I saw Poor Things with had the exact same reaction - after such a cliched and overblown trailer (that yes, appears to have the same premise as TTM) that title drop was very silly.

Y'all sure the Title isn't Baghdad? They're very similar and it would make more sense.

Have dealt with enough Bagheads in my lifetime to warrant wanting to watch a movie about them.

Out now on Shudder and after watching the trailer it looks like the plot to Talk to Me and a script meant for another Movie put together.

I kinda like the film, not that bad
also, it's insane that Jeremy Irvine have to play the widower who would do anything to see his death wife again twice in the same year (he would play James in Return to Silent Hill later this year, based on Silent Hill 2) and both characters
[Show spoiler]kill their wives

Saw this movie and quite liked it. I usually don't go much for horror movies but i felt this was actually a pretty well done UK based horror which we have a fair few of but always nice to add to.

It did end up subverting my expectations on how a movie typically ends and think its definitely a modern horror movie i would recommend somebody to watch if they haven't and are looking to this genre.

I think only a brief bit at the start takes place in the UK, the majority of the movie is at least set in Berlin, as that's where the pub she inherits is. Although no doubt the whole movie was probably filmed in the UK.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit too, although the lead character seemed very chilled out about the whole thing, and to say she took the concept of this thing living in her basement in her stride is something of an understatement. Perhaps there was a bit too much going on and it seemed a little unfocused but it was a nice looking movie with some good scares. The similarities to Talk to me are pretty minimal, it only really shares the overall concept of being able to interact with the dead.

I did NOT recognise Saffron Burrows at all. I guess i haven't really seen her in anything since Deep Blue Sea 25 years ago so perhaps no wonder.

The lead actor, i'm not sure if it was her performance or the writing/ direction, but i hope she has a bit more presence/ makes more of an impact in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes this summer. Something seemed a little subdued here, considering everything her character was having to deal with.
