I wouldn’t be surprised if potential Vision Pro 3D content were hacked and burned onto disc by those with the technological knowledge to do so…after all they seem to do so with Vudu/streaming 3D pretty easily so this isn’t impossible…that said, I’m still hoping for an official 3D bluray release…

I thought IMAX was done with the 3D format since Dunkirk when they said after the success of that movie they didn't need 3D anymore. Just saw in a TV spot tonight for this film that it was gonna be in IMAX 3D is the first movie in years where it's being promoted for IMAX 3D. Not even Avatar 2 in any of the trailers or TV spots I've seen was never promoted for being in IMAX 3D only Dolby.

With Avatar, Cameron prefers Dolby so that is his premium format of choice.

New promo from RealD 3D on their social media pages promises "the most mind-blowing 3D experience since Avatar", with the usual frame breaks to highlight the 3D aspect. Makes me wanna watch this film first day first show in 3D at the cinemas.

If the dare to compare this with Avatar (2). They have to go the Avatar (2) way & give it a 3D Blu-ray !!!!

Reminds me of how Tron: Legacy, with its Wizard of Oz approach to 3D, hit theaters one year after Avatar.

Cool to hear they're showing that Real D 3D Aquaman 2 promo where it looks like the characters are walking outside of the screen. I'm expecting strong 3D throughout if that's to be believed.

Comparing it to Avatar 2's strong native 3D, that's a tall order.
Yes, a blu ray 3D to join the Aquaman 1 blu ray 3D would be great.

There has been a report of someone on the forum really enjoying the 3D as much as in the first one, and then a report of decent 3D. Will check it out this weekend. Real D's claim that it's the next best 3D film since Avatar is a lot to live up to!

I've booked a trip to the cinema later this afternoon for this one. I wouldn't normally go to see this sort of film but am making an exception here because if the 3D is as good as the first film's (no real reason to assume it will be, but the trailer does look very ripe for it), and with a 3D disc release being unlikely, then there's a chance - just a chance - it could be a 3D classic not to be missed...

I was gonna order tickets for the 3D showing of this movie but after thinking about it I think I will more likely just skip this movie all together. I loved the first movie glad this sequel is getting the 3D treatment also but as a huge 3D supporter at some time you have to wonder what is even the point in fighting to support this format anymore? The Meg 2 I saw twice in theaters in 3D and read it sold more tickets in 3D yet was released in flat Blu-Ray 4K as are mostly all 3D movies are now as if that makes up for not giving us the 3D version, this movie more likely won't get a Blu-Ray 3D release no matter how successful.the 3D is. What's even the point when these movie studios and the electronic companies don't even wanna try anymore with 3D as and intentionally want it to fail no matter what.

Unfortunately for the 3D home market the number of ticket sold in theaters won't make a difference, and i say this because i work at theater and deal with this on a daily basis, most studios wont even enforce you to have a 3D show, only Disney pushes 3D and enforce it on certain titles. the big studios made up their minds a while ago and just don't want to pay the cost to not sell that many disc units. We just have to hope that one day they allow a boutique label to license those or we get it via streaming and some other ways if you know what i mean.

Higher ticket prices and they can force more of the upfront share of the box office. You should read some of the rules they've applied to movies like Star Wars. It's nuts how much they expect.

Critics are thrashing this. 38% RT score. And because press screenings were in 3D, every negative review is blasting the 3D along with the film itself.

It’s no wonder studios stopped holding press screenings in 3D. No one hates 3D more than film critics, and I say that as a former professional film critic.

Let me guess, the default complaint, "The 3D adds nothing!"

So the film has come out a day early here in India and I've just got back from watching it, and right off the bat I gotta say that this film is astounding in 3D, ranging from medium to strong throughout. Some parts are shot for 3D, some aren't, like some scenes shot in dark environments and some shaky cam action sequences. Some action sequences have great use of 3D, which include pop-out moments where certain objects are flying at you or towards the camera, and some good pop-in moments as well. That's about it without giving away any spoilers and whatnot.

Also this film is originally presented in full screen 1.78:1 and unfortunately for me it was cropped to 2.39:1 so a massive chunk of the overall image is cut off which really hurts the 3D experience. So try catching it in IMAX 3D or a premium large format screen in 3D to get that complete image.

Overall I had fun with it, while having some problems with it, like every film, considering it's the last film in the DCEU before Jimmy Pistol-- sorry, James Gunn completely reboots everything and forms the DCU. If you don't mind a casual fun experience with great 3D at the cinemas, this is it for you. It's such a shame that we'll most likely never get this film on 3D Blu-ray, but sadly that's the harsh reality. Hoping one day we'll get the new WB (and Disney) 3D films on 3D Blu-ray through a boutique label if possible.

Also just got back from seeing it. Unlike Ritwik, I didn't think the 3D was astounding. Good, for sure - but nowhere near as spectactular as the first film's. A very solid 3D presentation, better than the majority from the last couple of years even maybe, but not the 3D classic I'd (optimistically) hoped for.

The film itself. I hated it. One tedious CG action sequence after another, all peppered with unimaginative and unfunny one-liners. To be fair, I'm definitely not part of the target audience, and I'm not a big fan of this sort of film generally (although I kind of enjoyed the first one). Apart from the 3D, the only enjoyment I got from it was chuckling at every scene with poor old Amber Heard where they'd so obvioulsy stripped away as much of her presence from them as they could.

Right now I think I'm going to call it the second worst film I've seen this year, after Barbie. Still, at least this one was in 3D.

Yeah very dumb and wrong. But they thankfully didn’t shoot it down for the Avatar franchise.

3D movies only last in theaters for about a week before they're taken out of theaters here at my local Cinemark and the 3D showings are so few with 3D movies only getting 1-2 showings. Idk what was the point in my going out to see The Meg 2 twice in 3D in theaters and the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie I knew it would never make a difference, especially with the new cheapskate in charge as head of Warner. To these movies studios I will never consider Blu-Ray Ray 4K to be a replacement for not releasing the 3D version & I don't consider VR to be the future of 3D as I'm old school and will always prefer the group experience of watching a movie.
