Default Any Parasite Eve Fans?

So anyone else a fan of the original Parasite Eve?

I really wish they would give this game some love on modern systems...especially a HD remaster.

Done right I'd be first in line for a remade Parasite Eve 1 and 2. My idea of 'Done Right' is modern graphics, and voiced dialogue, 1 or 2 new bonus levels, but mostly identical gameplay. Maybe add some depth to the Chrysler Building so its less same-y, and definitely have options to change Aya's outfit among several new and classic options.

Problem is I heard there was a lapse in the license to the novel. Hope they can re-up it but we'll see.

If there is copyright issues then that might explain a lot.

So many great games left forgotten, in copyright hell, or some other issues.

The game had an unusual combat system.

Would love to have nice Parasite Eve 1/2 remakes - and while they are at it maybe some Dino Crisis as well ...

I would prefer HD remaster of Parasite Eve over full on remake.

Honestly, given the inconsistent quality of Square Enix's remasters of their PS1 catalog (particularly in regards to how pre-rendered backgrounds are presented), I think I'm okay with just emulating the PS1 version. Throw in a nice CRT shader, maybe some supersampling on the 3D models, and it still looks pretty nice as far as I'm concerned.

With a remake, I'm not sure what that even looks like in 2024. The combat in Parasite Eve 1 is really damn weird by modern standards, and I worry that Square Enix would just toss everything out and turn it into a conventional survival horror game.

It's not just Square, it is a problem with many game companies, you never know what you are going to get.

Got the original PS1 version installed on my PS3 right now.

It was never released in the UK so I had to create a US account to get it.

An HD remaster...YES, a remake (in the style of FF7)...NO.

A movie would be cool, we almost got one many years ago but clearly fell through.

It was cool the writer of the original book let them use the name for the first game, too bad he changed his mind because of the 2nd game.

It was done by a different team including someone that worked on Resident Evil for one. I hated the mechanic changes and new monster designs.

Great intro, but the rest of the game doesn’t live up to it.

There are many cool cinematic shots, though. had to take screenshots while playing it last year
