Quote:
It’s been called “graphic and unapologetic” (SexGoreMutants), “brutally effective” (Screen Rant) and “a forgotten classic” (Horror News). It remains the most reviled, controversial, and misunderstood genre film of the ‘80s. Now “the most repulsive, degrading and horrifying movie ever made” (NY Daily News) can be experienced like never before: When a homicidal mental patient (an enduringly disturbing performance by Baird Stafford) flees an experimental drug program, he’ll leave a 5-day trail of psychosexual carnage from the peep shows of 42nd Street to the gore-soaked shores of Florida. Written and directed by Romano Scavolini, this “devastating masterpiece” (Cinefear) – whose UK release as NIGHTMARES IN A DAMAGED BRAIN led to the imprisonment of distributor David Hamilton-Grant – has been scanned from the internegative and various foreign print sources to create the most complete version ever assembled.

no MONO still, not that I expected it but the 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo audio tracks are so bad. Even listening to the 2.0 direct is distracting.

Nah, they've released stuff here before. Unless you're referring solely to their UHDs.

It'll probs just be the US disc with a lovely BBFC logo on it. The film was already passed uncut when 88 Films released it.

Looks like it's missing the David Hamilton Grant documentary disc unfortunately but glad it's getting a UK release.

If the listing's accurate then they've re-authored the one bonus disc to include the documentary, but the short films have been dropped.

I was immediately interested in the UK release, and was about to pre-order until I read that it won't be having the rare David Grant films included.

Now they can whistle for it.

Don’t think they’re hardcore are they? Or is it animal harm?

Haven't got round to watching them yet so not too sure, could potentially be a cost or licensing issue although a few other extras relating to Nightmare are missing too

Nope - just standard sex-comedy type ones from the 70s. I've got other rare films of his like Girls Come First, which is about the same level of smut. It's all softcore, with full female nudity, and the odd flash of flaccid trouser-snake, but presented in a pretty steamy way. Nothing which would ruffle any feathers, let alone contravene any laws.

I suspect the problem is that Severin UK probably don't fancy the expense of putting together a Bertie-big-bollocks collector's set only for them to sit in their warehouse when deemed too expensive by causal punters. Given that each of the David Grant rarities obviously has to go through the expensive hands of the BBFC, it's a pricey proposition.

https://theneedleblog.wordpress.com/...ruth-mattersi/

I have the 88 Films release from HMV's stolen bankrupt 6 for £30 but I'm going to buy this just for the extra Damaged: The Very British Obscenity of David Hamilton-Grant.

We need a film about David Hamilton-Grant. Jason's Anthem can play him.

US disc review https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Night...340874/#Review

I think both are the same it's just the film's main name that's different.

That back slipcover artwork is cool I don't recall it.
