I'm debating on the Shaw Classics from them which is about $180 CDN (cheaper than UV when you consider their listing at $168 also includes $15 boxset fee and tax). Waiting to see how my first order with WowHD turns out first.

I've never had issues with Wow, aside from their poor customer service (they rarely respond, don't adjust prices on preorders if the price foes down on their site prior to release, etc), and longer shipping times.
I got the Arrow Shawscopes there as well and these didn't incur customs fees. Also went with them for the ITLOD set.
I won't order a box set from UV. Ever. I dislike their use of the 'surcharge' as it really only part of the price, they want their box sets to look cheaper, like with the ITLOD set, but you get charged that box surcharge on every box set, even if you order a bunch at once that all ship together.

Wish I'd have heard about WOW a few weeks back when I snagged the Arrow Shaw boxes from UV. At least they were on the arrow sale so even with the charge it wasn't so hefty.

I ordered ITLOD and the Warner Achieve Jackie Chan's from WOW. They shipped the Jackie a day later with tracking so seems like it will be maybe a week or so behind Amazon. Time, I have. Money I don't.

WowHD does not decide if you pay custom fees or not, Canada Customs (or the 'private courier') does based on the value stated on the package.

Wow does put the full value on the custom's declaration so it tends to depend on how they ship the parcel. The one I got charged for was the Grefe boxset and they sent that by courier and they charged me. The others were through the mail and I have never been charged.

Your idea is spot-on! Dealing with damaged slipcovers and the struggle for non-bilingual packaging is too real. A Canadian-focused online store with well-packed deliveries? Count me in! You can use Magento custom development to create the site, too. Let's make disc collecting hassle-free!
