After.Life (2009)

There are always a few horror movies that seem to creep up out of nowhere, and After.Life is one of those. After.Life stars Liam Neeson as Eliot Deacon, a funeral director who holds the fate of young woman caught between life and death in his hands. Christina Ricci plays Anna Taylor, the woman who has a chance of living again until she discovers that Deacon has the gift of transitioning the dead, and he might just be intent on burying her alive. Thanks to Bloody-Disgusting we have some photos from this. In addition to Neeson and Ricci, the cast includes Justin Long, Alfred Molina, Josh Charles, and Chandler Canterbury.

I decided to feature these not necessarily because I think they look great (I'm not the biggest horror fan), but rather because this cast is just too great to ignore. Normally you don't see a whole line-up of great actors like Neeson, Molina, Ricci, and Long all starring in an indie horror movie, but this time that's the case. This was written and directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo, who graduated from NYU in 2003. The film doesn't have a US distributor yet, as far as I know, but I expect it to show at various film festivals sometime later this year and/or next year.

Yeah, he is the one that leads my interest the most as well as Alfred Molina; this just seems out of place for them so I'll probably check this out.

Official Plot Synopsis:

After a horrific car accident, Anna (Christina Ricci) wakes up to find the local funeral director Eliot Deacon (Liam Neeson) preparing her body for her funeral. Confused, terrified and feeling still very much alive, Anna doesn’t believe she’s dead, despite the funeral director’s reassurances that she is merely in transition to the afterlife. Eliot convinces her he has the ability to communicate with the dead and is the only one who can help her. Trapped inside the funeral home, with nobody to turn to except Eliot, Anna is forced to face her deepest fears and accept her own death. But Anna’s grief—stricken boyfriend Paul (Justin Long) still can’t shake the nagging suspicion that Eliot isn’t what he appears to be. when I first saw this on worst previews I was thinking it was Residant evil: Afterlife. They got me. I do like the trailer so maby I will enjoy the film. Like some have said. I hope it gets a wide release as well.

More like 70% of the movie.

I never saw the trailer but rather stumbled on the BD at my local rental. So I went in totally blind. I really enjoyed it. It was very well acted and genuinely creepy. Though it's no a scary movie. It just has an eerie mood about it that I really enjoyed.

Is Anna Alive or Dead??

[Show spoiler]You could make a good argument either way but I tend to lean towards the side that says she's alive and Eliot Deacon is a serial killer that chooses his victims based on how he thinks their life is. Are they just "Breathers" the "Piss and shit" and if they are than he stalks and kills them.
