This is the game that made me buy an Xbox. I hope it gets a physical release. It looks incredible.

Awesome!

I think it will. I am hoping for a Collector's edition and a controller.

It would seem a bit counterproductive to not release a licensed game on physical media. Indiana Jones is bound to be attractive to physical media collectors.

I know Machinegames hasn't really done these sorts of third-person cinematics before, but it really bugs me how shoddy the camera work is in this cutscene. It feels like there's no actual thought put into any of the angles chosen. Like, when that goon gets hit by the crate, it just comes out of nowhere and we don't get any buildup. Same with when it slides past Indy and the Nazi commander. The choreography is fine,

And sure, I realize most video game cutscenes don't have particularly well-directed cutscenes. But it's Indiana goddamn Jones, and they have a AAA budget to work with, and they're showing this off at a high-profile event like they expect me to be impressed by a cutscene that's shot like an episode of NCIS. You can study how Spielberg shoots an action scene, or even just hire a competent director to handle your cutscenes. Come on, guys.

Yeah the main cutscene was pretty jarring. Especially the snow on the villains eyes. Stood out really badly.

It seemed very stilted. Like characters move like they're somewhat underwater.

But I feel like they got the vibe and tone of the films.

Whoa that looks good!

I like that the character looks and sounds like a young HF.

They should have gotten that voice for the de-aging sequence in Indy 5.

"Obviously, last spring we launched four games, two of them on the Switch, four of them on PlayStation, and we said we were gonna learn," Spencer said. "We said we'd watch. I think at Showcase, I might have said, from our learning, we're gonna do more.

"What I see when I look is: our franchises are getting stronger. Our Xbox console players are as high this year as they've ever been. I look at it, and I say, okay: our player numbers are going up for the console platform. Our franchises are as strong as they've ever been. And we run a business.
Quote:
"It's definitely true inside of Microsoft, the bar is high for us in terms of the delivery we have to give back to the company, 'cause we get a level of support from the company that's just amazing, what we're able to go do," he added.

"So I look at this, how can we make our games as strong as possible? Our platform continues to grow both on console, on PC, and on Cloud, and I think it's just going to be a strategy that works for us.

"The last thing I'll probably say is that I think there's a lot of pressure on the industry. It's been growing for a long time, and now people are looking for ways to grow.

"I think us - as fans, as players of games - we just have to anticipate there's going be more change, and how some of the traditional ways that games are built and distributed - that's gonna change. That's gonna change for all of us. But the end result has to be better games that more people can play. If we're not focused on that, I think we're focused on the wrong things. So for us at Xbox - health of Xbox, health of our platform, and our growing games are the most important things."
Company that's not selling much hardware moves its games everywhere to make more money!? I'd much rather them do this that shutter the division altogether. No idea why this is surprising or an apocalyptic scenario for some.

I seem to remember similar freakouts when Play Anywhere was announced and Quantum Break would release simultaneously on PC, also when Sony announced...I think it was Horizon: ZD...was coming to PC after a few years of being exclusive.

I'm expecting a 3-6 month exclusivity window will be the most we see on Xbox first party going forward (excluding ABK which will all be simultaneous releases). Blade is probably the last one in production that will get an exclusivity period (because it was mentioned during the FTC trial that they negotiated exclusivity w/ Marvel), after that it's probably day and date everywhere...and I'm still going to buy on Xbox as long as they continue making them, just like I'll keep buying PlayStation games and I'll keep buying Nintendo games as long as they keep making consoles.

I think Microsoft properties will stay exclusive or at least stay exclusive much longer. Like Phil Spencer has said, this will be on a case-by-case basis. I think stuff like Fable, Forza, Halo, Gears, etc. will stay on Xbox. You might see stuff like Avowed, Outer Worlds 2, South of Midnight, Clockwork Revolution, etc. making their way to PS5 eventually. I think we’re seeing the very short exclusivity release window for Indiana Jones because of the property it’s based on. Everyone was pinpointing a Forza Horizon 5 To PS5 announcement, because FH5 was mentioned as being at the show, and it was just to reveal a new game mode.

Of course, until Xbox draws a line and says, “This is our release strategy”, all of this conjecture is going to continue and we’re going to constantly have rumors that all Xbox games are going to PlayStation. There was no Starfield to PS5 announcement. No Forza announcement. Not even a Hellblade 2 to PS5 announcement. Avowed is being shown, and there’s no PS5 release date being announced for it. But we at least do have a final release date for it. Honestly, I would have rather Avowed come out this year rather than in February. The only other games I plan to buy are Dragon Age and Metaphor: Refantazio. Obviously, I’ll be downloading this when it drops. And I’m sure I’ll check out BLOPs6.

Default Collector's Edition

Quote:
Collector’s Edition
  • Base Game
  • The Great Circle 11” Globe with Hidden Storage
  • Up to 3 days early access
  • Allmaker Relic Replica with Game Code (Base Game)
  • Jumbo SteelBook® Case
  • New Adventure Journal
  • The Order of Giants™ Story DLC (upon release)
  • Digital Art Book
  • Temple of Doom™ Outfit
  • The Last Crusade™ Pack (also included w/ pre-orders and Game Pass)
    • Traveling Suit Outfit
    • Lion Tamer Whip
I think it is cool that the CE includes a "jumbo" steel book, but the game is only a code...standard and premium editions are both available on disc for Xbox Series X. The premium content is digital only for all platforms. No price listed here so I'll just say expensive.

Solve an Epic Puzzle for the Chance to Win an Indiana Jones and The Great Circle Themed Console

Quote:
  • To celebrate the highly anticipated release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Xbox has designed a stunning custom console and controller that pays homage to the adventurer himself.
  • From November 12, fans can head to Microsoft Experience Centers located in London, Sydney, and New York to view a stunning Indiana Jones inspired display.
  • Solve the puzzle to enter the sweepstakes for a chance of winning this unique console, plus an array of other exciting prizes.
https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2024/10/...x-sweepstakes/

I like how the ABXY buttons look like jewels, would be interesting if the controller was wrapped in leather (or a synthetic) but that is pretty unlikely. I wonder if someone (dbrand?) has a leather wrap for Xbox controllers?
