i was setting up the bdps1 and the 5300es reciever and when i put in ghost rider and turn on ddtrue-hd... the true hd light doesnt light up just the dd light lights up on the display... is there anybody that can help me out?????

I'm afraid there's no help here. The BDP-S1 doesn't bitstream TrueHD. It has to be decoded by the player and then sent PCM to the receiver. Change the audio settings on the S1 on the HDMI interface to PCM and make sure your player is at Firmware 2.00 or greater.

Link to the documentation update that describes which settings relate to the output type.
Link to the BDP-S1 firmware update. This'll get you to 2.10. If you don't select PCM, I believe the S1 downmixes it to just DD 5.1. We'll have to ask a genius how that's done. ![]() Last edited by CAB; 09-12-2007 at 07:37 PM. Reason: fixed links |

well im setting up the reciever for my store... besides this little hickup its a great reciever, but i cant really compare it to other recievers because all i sell is sony... now i have the 2.10 fw loaded already, but im going to try out a few more options before i throw the machine out the window... jk lol

When you have it configured "correctly" your reciever should say PCM. If it's any comfort, players are hitting the market now that bitstream TrueHD and DTS-HD HR and MA. I'm waiting till things calm down after the holidays before I select something.
