I am not sure if this is the right thread, and I apologize if it's not.
I purchased a Blu-ray copy of Transformers Rise of the Beasts with Digital from a seller on eBay, it's a legit copy. I returned it due to loading to a black screen and that's literally it. So I ordered a copy off a different seller, and now the same exact thing. Legit copy with digital. When I put the disc in it auto loads to this black screen. If I hit stop goes back to my SONY Blu-ray player menu, and it does show Transformers Rise of the Beasts title on the disc. I have hundreds of Blu-rays that play just fine. It's weird to get two copies in a row like this. My Blu-ray player was purchased in 2013. Anyone else having this problem with this movie? |

Hello,
That sounds really frustrating. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I don't have the same movie, but I did some research and I found out that some people had the same issue with other Blu-ray discs. Apparently, it's a compatibility problem between some Blu-ray players and some discs. It might depend on the firmware version, the region code, the encryption, or some other factors. Some possible solutions are: • Updating the firmware of your Blu-ray player. You can check the SONY website for instructions on how to do that. • Trying a different Blu-ray player. Maybe you can borrow one from a friend or a family member, or try it on a different device like a laptop or a console. • Contacting the customer service of the movie studio or the distributor. Maybe they can send you a replacement disc or a digital code that works. I hope this helps. Let me know if you manage to fix it or if you need more help. Good luck ! |

Firmware is up to date. I tried a factory reset, and then tried firmware update, just get message it is up to date when doing by wifi. Went to SONY's site and downloaded the update and burned to a CD-R and it was the most current update available and got same message "already updated." There is no contact info for Blu-rays I could find, only digital support. Just so weird this is the first time I have had this happen. Plan to try finding another way to contact Paramount. Will reach out to SONY, most likely they will just say no longer supported or something.
