That's actually pretty cool. A blanc steelbook except spine. Those stickers are ridiculous, but I kind of like the blanc look. Especially considering the crappy artwork on the regular steelbook release. By the way that doens't look like a jumbo steelbook but since it has 4 discs, I suppose it has to be a jumbo.

Hmmmmmm....wonder what's the difference between the 2 amazon listings?

The original list:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fast-Furious...9677019&sr=8-1 Ł33.98

and the new listing:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fast-Furious...9677019&sr=8-3 Ł38.98

Ł5 more expensive as I already have a pre-order in for the original listing

I'm guessing the original listing is just a normal cardboard slipcover with the 4 releases inside? I dunno.

If this steelbook was something like an animated Disney film where the target audience is 5-10 years old, then I could understand the decorate your steelbook idea with stickers, but come on, seriously?! They think people that want these films in blu-ray and in a steelbook are going to want to put their own stickers on the covers? I hope there is some artwork on the case and that the stickers are just something to throw in it. I hope they don't make all these F&F releases worldwide like this.

I won't be "tuning" this one at all if that is what it is going to look like. I like my muscle cars clean and sexy anyway, sans stickers. If I was going to put any graphics on a car, I'd have them painted on also. This one has so much potential for a gorgeous looking steelbook. This might be the first time I'll actually prefer the amaray/slipcover versions instead of a steelbook.

Well, according to this post, it is.

I have been to the site and it is listed specifically as a steelbook.

I know this will get me in trouble, but I cannot resist myself. The target audience for these movies is actually quite young. Come on, fast cars, big boobs and a terrible plot and bad acting. The Junior High students will go grazy pimping their steelbooks

But seriously. Yes blanc steelbook kind of ruins the whole idea of a steelbook which should be a superior artwork compering to an amaray case. However I think I am going to buy the british release as the other version has the worst ever artwork in my opinion. I think a blanc clean simple steelbook looks a lot classier that the german or italian version. I leave playing with the stickers for younger people. I just like the clean look of the blanc steel more that a crappy artwork.

Yeah, I'll give you that the target audience is for the younger generation, but not THAT young. To me, they are also targeting a slightly older generation with some of the old muscle cars in some of these movies. I liked some of these films 'cos it was all about the cars, and I saw all kinds of sizes of boobs in the last film (that chick w/ the white Porsche had nearly nothing going on upstairs LOL!). The plot on some of these films could use some major overhauling, but I thought the first and last ones were decent (I actually consider the last one to be part II 'cos it ties more to the first one than any of the others). The acting was not oscar worthy, that's for sure, but for action flicks, it was okay. I still like the first and last one, and the 2nd film was "eh." The third, that one was definitely geared towards the teenie boppers, and if I didn't like some of the scenes in it, I'd toss it out completely. But, I don't see junior high kids playing with stickers; younger kids, yes, but not teens and pre-teens. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but my daughter is 12, and she is SO not into stickers anymore it's not even funny. I don't like the artwork yet for some of the others, but I'm hoping the artwork on them has not been finalized and they will actually throw up something much more appealing than what is currently being shown. If this blank one has some kind of embossing or something else besides just a plain blank steelbook, then I might spring for it and give the stickers to my 5 year old (who can't get enough of them). I just find it hard to believe that the marketing geniuses that put this one together thinks this is a good idea. They must not have a clue about what steelbook collectors like if this is their idea of a killer release.

sorry for the long read (and rant).
