Thank God for that. My intestines will remain intact.

Nice! Love Anthropophagus. Wonder if Severin will announce a possible UHD upgrade from them?

Would love for Severin to possibly add the soundtrack CD for Anthropophagus as it wasn't available to first time around.

Speak of the frikkin' devil. What perfect timing. I could almost smell this one coming. My cannibal senses were really tingling yesterday, and for good reason. I'll be buying the shyte out of any and all 4k releases of this title. No doubt, Severin will likely slide right in behind 88, with their own uhd offering. Let's get it on! Absurd 4k is, of course, inbound as well. What a fantastic time to be a uhd horror collector.

I'm thinking it's more and more likely that we may actually see a Zombi 3 uhd materialize! More Fulci on 4k is a must. C'mon 88, let's ride this pony all the way!

Anyone up for more magenta blood?

I’m definitely in but that last debacle with replacement discs left a sour taste in my mouth. Guess I’ll have to order direct from 88 in case there’s another cockup

Now to see if DiabolikDVD will carry these.

If not, most likely means Severin releases coming.

Does OrbitDVD carry titles that may have impending US releases?

Yep. I grabbed Burial Ground and Zombie Holocaust from Orbit last year.

Gotcha. Thanks.

DiabolikDVD said they don't know yet if they're going to carry them so I might go via Orbit.

They offer free shipping now if you buy £35 so it's probably cheaper than ordering here.

Of the four new 4K UHD announcements by 88 Films, I can't find this one Amazon UK. Is this a Webstore exclusive? Is there any other way to get it?

I don't think it is terrible art its just that there is something wrong with George Eastman's face it looks odd its out of proportion from the rest of it' its just his face that ruins it.

I'm very happy that the same old artwork of Eastman munching on his guts isn't being used. It's been on at least 4 previous releases and a slipcover.

Love Graham Humphreys as an artist but I prefer his less-is-more stuff. With some of them he feels compelled to squeeze everything on and the composition is a bit naff.

I'll be holding on to the Blu-rays for the art. The slips look lovely, especially the first one they released which matches the UK VHS.

Sadly we'll likely never get a real soundtrack to Anthropophagus- the tapes are gone. Supposedly composer Marcello Giombini junked them himself(!?) There's a bootleg rerecording(?)

Or maybe you meant the soundtrack to Absurd.

Ahhh bummer, it's such a cool score.

I think the Severin Absurd release came with the soundtrack CD.

Regardless, can't wait for this 4K!

The LE of 3000 did include the CD soundtrack.

I don't think I can make it all the way to June 24 without noshing on my own spleen a little bit....This is going to take some serious willpower.

88 Films did an amazing job rescuing Zombie Holocaust from innumerable instances of unsightly damage, and doing a considerable amount of quality color correction, when they pumped out that 4k master a few months back. Anthropophagous apparently also has a decent amount of damage - staining, yellowing, scratches, etc. I feel that 88 Films is more likely than Severin to address such issues to the greatest extent possible. Fingers crossed. No matter what, the upcoming 4k should be a fairly significant upgrade over the existing blu rays.

Every iteration of Anthro has so far looked overly bright and harsh to my eyes, particularly the daytime scenes so I hope the upcoming 4K will be definitive release once and for all.
