Default Need help looking for a good recvr/amp for just a 2.1 setup...

OK so Im looking for a real basic setup for our living room for our new place that we're building... (my man cave will be in the basement)... basically Im gonna have a 40" LCD (TBD what kind later) I have a pair of Klipsch RB61's that I will use for fronts L + R.... essentially we'll be sitting in here with company the odd time... watching a game... listening to music... the odd bluray... do most recvr's now days have the ability to just be 2.1/stereo if need be? Im looking for something decent too... any advice would be awesome!!!!

Oh and I should also mention... For the time being there will be a PS3 and an XBOX360 in the mix until the cave is built... so Im looking for something with HDMI pass through too!

Cheers in advance!!!

yes, you can use a receiver as 2.1 if you desire.

How much are you looking to spend?

You have tons of option available to you, even here in Canada. I say that as pricing for AVR's is really expensive.

Start looking at the usual suspects.......Future Shop and Best Buy, and then proceed to your local higher-end audio shops. You can get some really good deals there.

Check out these receivers at Best Buy. Check off the COMPARE box and you'll get a comparison of the 3.

Denon AVR-790
Pioneer VSX1019AHK
Sony STRDG920
