![]() ![]() Everyone is wondering if it will be better than the US version, which is supposed to be horrendous. Looking forward to seeing how this goes. I believe the US is *just* the extended version. |

So this is well after the fact, but I did pick this one up. If I knew how to do screen captures, I would. From what I can tell, the 2 cuts are different transfers. The shorter, theatrical version is sharper and has kind of a different appearance overall. The extended version looks lower res, like upconverted SD. It's possible the extended version was edited for home video before its original release, so they don't have much of an HD master to go from. The theatrical could have been transferred from a print source, which would explain the clarity. I'm not saying the difference is drastic, but it's noticeable. There are no extras, just the 2 cuts with DTS-HD MA 5.1

It looks like Studiocanal will issue the Director's Cut on Blu-ray in Germany on January 14th, 2016:
