This is likely correct since the HK theatrical poster has the cat III rating.

I've got the HK DVD of Eternal Evil of Asia, I've always enjoyed it a lot.

Would like to have that one as well.
It's a trashy film (the fun kind), full of ridiculous scenes, and gratuitous nudity.

On top of that, my old HK DVD started pixelating and freezing on my second watch, and never properly worked since, so it would be great to have a working copy.

---

But it's awesome to see more and more Cat. III titles making it to BD.

There was a period in time in the early 90's when I imported tons of genre films from HK, and there's a lot of great stuff that I would love to see on BD, especially since a lot of it is out of print, and hard to find, so I much prefer to see titles like these making the jump to HD/BD, instead of the 3rd or 4th HD release of a US slasher (don't get me wrong, like those as well, but many have multiple releases already available, and are easy to find).

I'll keep crossing my fingers for BD releases of stuff like The Cat, Killer’s Nocturne, Her Vengeance, (...), you know, basically anything by Lam Ngai Kai (aka Lam Nai Choi, Nam Nai Choi, ...). I have a huge appreciation for his brand of cinematic lunacy.

Also, stuff like Naked Killer, a popular title at the time, that I would have expected to make it to BD before titles like Holy Virgin Vs The Evil Dead. Or 1996's The Imp, famous for errrr showcasing Diana Pang's talents.

Some Cat. III titles are available on BD in HK, like various Raped by an Angel entries, but I'm not sure those would pass uncut in the UK.

And since I ended up babbling about HK titles, allow me to be the only guy suggesting a BD release of Wilson Yip's "The Mummy, Aged 19", from 2002.
Besides various big HK blockbusters, Wilson Yip is known for directing the very enjoyable horror comedy Bio Zombie, which I quite like. I would welcome an 88 Films release of Bio Zombie, but since there's already a HD release by Vinegar Syndrome, I would like to see a BD release of his return to the horror/comedy genre, the much lesser known "The Mummy, Aged 19", which I found to be quite silly fun. It's a much lighter, slapstick take on the genre, but I'm sure it would find an audience if it was more readily available.

Some great suggestions here. I would also love The Assassin, The Cat, The Peacock King. I made a composite of Her Vengeance (what a cracking film that is), Eternal Evil and even Pituitary Hunter but think i am getting carried away.

Will deffo be picking this up.

The 1993 Assassin? Yes please! I hadn't thought of that one in a while, but it needs to be unearthed. A unique blend of hyperviolence and arty flair. It had a bit of cult momentum going when it was released, but without a marquee cast it was quickly forgotten when the new wave of period martial arts ebbed away. Seeing as this resurgence of HK golden age on home video is past the marquee star requirement, this would be an awesome acquisition. We just had Burning Paradise doing the rounds, and The Assassin sits comfortably next to that.

The most commonly available version of Assassin is missing several minutes.

The German DVD of THE ASSASSIN is uncut, but has only German audio (the dub is pretty bad) and is in ugly cropped fullscreen.

I would love to see this resurrected in HD.

I have the hk and uk releases - i know there is also a hk blu ray but am not convinced the quality will be much better than dvd judging by some of the hk blu rays i have picked up. Surely if the Seventh Curse can be released someone somewhere can release The Cat!

I think the only Wisely film to have had a proper Blu-ray release is The Seventh Curse. We need the rest of them!

The Wesley's Mysterious File got a release. I have it, I've watched it but can't remember anything about it, which probably speaks volumes. The Legend of Wisely also had a blu but I recall it looked pretty poor.

Thanks. I love these kinds of movies. The Legend of Wisely and The Cat look great, and I see A Tale From the East has Joey Wong.

I would love for the rest to get released on BD along with Ghost Snatchers.

I picked up the HK disc of Peacock King and the sequel to it a long time ago, and they looked pretty soft and upscaled. The first one was a lot of fun.
