I think I mixed up the power cord on my cable box and blu ray player would this affect the display?

no, as long as it fits snuggly into the port (?) then you should be fine for both.

Of course if you paid $1500 for a super-ultra-low-loss-noise-immume-quadruple-shielded-flux-capacitor-no.2awg power cord with triple grounding and a really cool looking blue braided exterior and then plugged it into your standard wall receptacle, it would sound a lot better.
