Sadly I don't see a film like this getting too many 4K releases, so this is a nice surprise even if it 100% won't be English friendly.

I'll probably grab it tho, unless the subtitles are burned it, since I'm fortunate enough to have a player that can do external ones.

I’m willing to give this a chance too but keep in mind that Blaq Out’s Blu-ray encodes are horrendous. I tried watching their Pacifiction BD but had to stop a few minutes in.
I’m not aware about them having done other UHDs, so hopefully this’ll be a good one.

Maybe the most exciting film of the year for me. I recently rewatched Birth and Glazer really knows how to **** with the viewer. When you add Sexy Beast and the scariest film ever made -Under The Skin- it's just a shame there's a long wait for his next film work.

I have to imagine A24 are planning a shop-exclusive 4K release of this since it doesn't appear to be coming through Lionsgate. I suppose their release could just be BD only though.

I believe so as we got it on Kaleidescape from A24 in 4K HDR.

I sincerely hope it’s 4K with Atmos. Watched the film today on Apple TV and it’s a tremendously important masterpiece. In order to sell its intended visual impact best, a 4K UHD is desperately necessary. Those that watched the film know what I’m talking about. A BD wouldn’t do this justice as the image needs all the resolution. Glazer’s images are as close to a direct portal into the world of the film as it can get. And that sound… my God. World class and endlessly harrowing even on the lossy stream.

Does Kaleidescape include TrueHD ATMOS / DTS-X audio tracks for 4K movies that haven't been released on UHD?
It pisses me off that I invested a lot of money into installing a proper ATMOS surround sound setup, but studios of stopped bothering to release some movies on Physical Media... You can access 4K streaming versions, but the best audio option is BASTERIZED, COMPRESSED Dolby Digital 'Atmos'!

I'm worried if in our 'Strictly Streaming' home video future that studios won't even bother offering a LOSSLESS AUDIO option? Since 'mainstream' consumers likely don't even notice the difference, or care enough to demand the best sound possible.

EDIT: NEVERMIND! Did some research and evidently they DO provide the same LOSSLESS audio streams that are otherwise only available on UHD Physical Media, and apparently they somehow also provide a HIGHER Video Bitrate than what's encoded on the disks!

Now I just have to come up with around $10K for their cheapest SERVER & SEPARATE playback device?! Damn, I knew these thing were expensive, but that's WAY more than I expected... And I can't believe their SERVER doesn't include any playback capabilities, and is essentially a glorified NAS that just streams the video file to what is essentially a proprietary HTPC that actually processes the files and displays them on the connected display.

So for $5K they couldn't throw a better CPU in the 'Server' so it could also act as a player for 1 Display? They really need to sell you another $4K 'Set Top Box' to actually playback the video files?

I guess these are really only intended for 'Money Is No Object' CLIENTS, so hopefully the streaming services eventually start offering subscription tiers featuring LOSSLESS audio... I don't expect them to EVER offer 'Full Bitrate' video, but MAYBE lossless audio is a slim possibility in the future?
