This far into DVD days were they still releasing VHS or heck Beta only titles? I doubt it.
Because if they don't think it's going to sell enough, they won't bother. That's why shows sometimes end up being released only as MOD. Other times they are released on BD and people get the idea in their head that they won't release the next season on BD so they don't buy it since it's happened before. Which actually just causes them to go to DVD only because it didn't sell. Also some people don't find certain shows to be re-watchable.

Was briefly thinking at one point about getting the UK DVD set of the first season of Suburgatory. Really enjoyed the first season. It wasn't what I'd call laugh out loud funny, more quirky funny. It was well written and full of energy. Was interested in partly seeing the series Suburgatory because of Jeremy Sisto's role on Law & Order.

Enjoyed the majority of the second season so far.

Yeah but why should DVD sell so much better? This deep into the release of DVD did anyone still sell anything as VHS only? How much does a blu-ray player cost these days? You can a cheapo one for a few bucks and if you have an HDTV set you can certainly spring a couple extra bucks for a blu-ray player. It's not like they are $1000 as at the start.

How does DVD make something more re-watchable. Same unwatchable content only now with much worse picture quality than broadcast.

And it's also foolish to judge sales ability of bl-ray off of DVD sales since many refuse to buy DVDs at this point in time. Heck you can digitally record shows OTA in much higher quality than you'd see off a set of DVDs that you had to pay money for. So they expect people to go out and pay for a crap product that is worse quality than just taping over the air signals or even than analog capture of cable box component outs??

I have no idea how it was with VHS, but DVDs were something completely new, from tapes to discs. During that time I'd assume more people were interested in upgrading.

It may not necessarily be the price of a player that some people aren't convinced, it could be that they don't see the difference (I've read and heard this numerous times), it's not worth the upgrade to them or maybe they don't want to spend the money to replace the movies they already own. Or maybe just misinformed about the entire thing. Who knows.

I never said DVDs make something more re-watchable. I've seen many people say that certain TV shows aren't worth owning because they don't have much replay value, and of course that could be different for everyone.

Like I said, people get this idea in their head that they won't release the next season on blu-ray so they don't bother buying it, then guess what? It's only released on DVD because any of those people that would have bought it didn't. Of course I don't like that they do that as I do buy all of the shows I'm interested in. But I have no control and eventually I get over it. If anything I'm happy they'll at least release shows on DVD because two cancelled shows I loved from a couple years ago weren't released at all.

Suburgatory doesn't have a huge audience in comparison to other shows, so I'm sure that has a lot more to do with why it never got a BD release. I honestly can't really blame a company for not wanting to spend money on a release that probably won't sell well, or if they decide not to continue releasing a show on BD.

Any word on DVDs of seasons 2 and 3? This is a really funny show, and I'm sad that it was cancelled.

This season was definitely lacking compared to the first two, but it still had great moments. These last two episodes, particularly the finale, were amazing.

I'm so glad that
[Show spoiler]pretty much everyone ended up together in the end

Do you mean on the database here? That is 9 years old and people can create them. It's not an indication of an actual incoming release.
